We are going to Disneyland for the first time during the last week of April. We plan on three days in the parks. Would it be worth it to purchase Ridemax? How busy will it be from April 28 through April 30th?

we just returned from a trip to southern California that included 3 days in DL and DCA during the busiest time of year (12/30 - 1/1). I LOVED using ridemax for our pre-trip planning and it really helped give me a guide for what to expect crowd-rise during our trip. I definitely think it's worth it. My DS (9years old) and DD (6) actually liked it it too becuase they could pick out what rides they wanted to go on, which days, and how many times. I must say that ridemax REALLY over-predicting the wait times for many of the rides though (esp. at DCA on NYE). We were able to ride Toy Story Mania twice on NYE (at 10:15 and at 5:15) with less than 20 minute waits each time. Actually our longest wait anywhere was Peter Pan for 30 minutes on 1/1. Most of our non-fast pass waits were around 15 - 25 minutes and with fast pass, we never waited more than a few minutes except on Space Mountain were we waited for around 10 minutes each time. Ridemax was GREAT for figuring out which fast passes to get when.

I am a RideMax fan. Late April is low season and RM has more value in high season than low. As far as that goes even RM will probably tell you it is probably not that valuable. However, some people feel more comfortable with a plan in their hand even if they do not follow it. I am like that myself, and it is a big reason I bought RM for WDW. It is only $15 for a 3 month subescription so the cost is pretty low compared to other costs of visiting DLR. HTH.

I to also think RM is wonderful I used it myself in the middle of August last year and it was wonderful really helps to get you on the rides with hardly no wait.

Hmmm... since we will be there over a holiday weekend, I think I will d'load this - I would love to maximize our time there - even though we will have several quiter days (Tues - Thursday) as well. I just don't want us to get enormously frustrated.

Just to add...

RideMax is a software program that you load onto your PC and/or laptop. (It's for PCs, and not for Macs.) A 3-month subscription is $14.95. In order to use the RideMax program you will need to be connected to the internet. Loading the software and using the program is very straightforward and easy.

You select the park, date, times, and rides/attractions, and RideMax will display a step-by-step itinerary (including when to collect FPs).

The creator of RideMax is a huge Disney fan, and he includes some general touring advice, including suggestions for the parades, fireworks, etc.

RideMax can be especially helpful for first-time Guests, or Guests who haven't been to the parks in a while, or Guests who are going to the parks during a different time of year.

One of the things I like about RideMax is that it will let you know if you are planning too many rides or not enough rides.

You can follow the step-by-step itineraries, or you can just use RideMax to get some general ideas ahead of time.

It's a planning tool -- some planning gurus call it a "fun toy" . It will help lower your wait times and can help make your visit more enjoyable.

Yes it is so worth it!! I used it for 1.5 days and we got to see EVERYTHING we wanted (in August no less)!! I am going to get it again for our 2 day trip, no doubt and no second thoughts!!!

Just give yourself time to play around with the software and definitely use HydroGuys tips! Invaluable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love Ridemax. Although I have never actually been to the parks when it was so busy that I had to use a Ridemax plan, I thoroughly enjoy planning out my days "just in case." Ridemax offers a lot of insight in to crowd patterns and can be of value for those just wanting to get an idea of what's possible and what's probable. And for those of us that just love to plan, it provides endless hours of "potential planning" value and excitement prior to a trip. I definitely think it's worth the investment. Who knows, maybe I'll actually find myself at the parks during high season some year.

I might have to give it a try for June. While waiting for the tram on Jan. 2, the woman next to me in line had Ridemax print out she was scanning.
