I am a little confused by my ridemax tour plan for June 16th. It seems everything I have read suggests to go to Soarin first thing (including Tour Guide Mike). Ridemax dosn't tell me to get a FP until 10:30. I am new to all of this (never been to DW). I am most excited about Soarin and don't want to miss it! Help please...

I can't speak for Ridemax, but when we used TGM it was spot on. This was in a pretty crowded week leading up to Christmas.

I've used both RideMax & TGM. I've found both to be worthwhile. I prefer RideMax because the site is easier for me to navigate. That said, I would STILL get to SOARIN 1st thing in the a.m. -- I love Soarin and what be kicking myself if I couldn't get on it.

No matter what the experts say, It is YOUR trip and if you will be stressed & distracted your first few hours in the morning it isn't worth following expert opinion

I don't use either of the touring guides you mentioned.....

but just from experience, having visited WDW every summer since Soarin' opened, fast passes run out by 1 pm usually. And these will have return times of 7-8 pm.

If you don't want to fast pass Soarin', def get there first. But even if you get there by 10-11 am, you will be able to get a FP for like 3-5 pm.

I had both last summer and found quite a difference in what Ridemax said we could do. After seeking advice from TGM'ers and DIS'ers, I went with TGM. And it was spot on...got so much more done than what Ridemax said, even a touring plan that Ridemax said wouldn't work in my 4 hour time allotment was fine following TGM.

So, yes, follow your TGM.

We were there last week with a level 9 crowd. We used Ridemax and I couldn't understand why until I arrived at Epcot that it had me getting a fp first thing upon rope drop instead of riding Soarin upon rope drop. Apparently the line is instantly 30 minutes long because it seemed like half the people at Epcot were going straight to Soaring!

So we ran down for a fp which gave us a return time of 9:40. When we returned at this time the line was at least 45 minutes and our wait time was about 5.

Get a fp first thing and then you won't have to worry about it.

It sounds like ridemax is suggesting you first go to Soaring and ride it, then return at 10:30 to get a fast pass, this way you get to ride it at least twice. It's a great ride, one you're sure to want to ride twice, unless you are afraid of heights ! Have fun!
