I've been busy planning itineraries, and have a question about using a FastPass runner. Does the group get in line before the runner is back with the FastPasses? If so, do others in line get upset with this, or not so much since it's just one person?

Also, can you really make it from Pirates to IASW in 3 minutes? That seems really fast.

Only if you're the little boy from the incredibles. :rotfl:

I'd say 7 minutes at the least & if the hub or FL is crowded, even longer.

Regarding (1) runner getting FPs (or taking a toddler to the bathroom) for a family of 5.......I (& i suspect most) wouldn't have a problem with it. Two thoughts though:

- let the family behind you know you got one more person coming.
- There are a few rides that it wouldn't work very well on (SM, Monsters, maybe Indy).

But....the fact that you are asking these type of questions makes you a very cool Dis Comando. :thumbsup2

Ooh, good tip! Hopefully we have nice people around us in line. And since we'll be a group of 8, one missing person in the beginning hopefully won't make too much of a diff.

And my group certainly won't be traveling at Dash-like speed. They'll probably be more like a group of Eeyores with :tigger: (me) trying to drag them along. Maybe I'll have to set the RideMax touring speed to slow.:sad2:

Usually it's not too much of a problem because the runner moves (fast!) whislt everyone else moves on to the next ride. If you have alarge slow moving group then the runner might get herrewith you! We often let others past in line at a convenient point if we do have to wait for the runner - Ridemax tends to give a little margin anyway, so uyou might find yourself slightl ahead of schedule.

That's good to know too! All the times do seem very doable so far, except for the Pirates to IASW in 3 minutes.

I can't believe after months and months of reading these boards, I'm freaking out and feel like I don't know what to do. Okay, deep breath... one month to go:cool1:

I went 29 times last year, and I have it down now. I am renewing my pass this week and I am looking forward to it.

3 minutes is very fast from IASW to Pirates, maybe in a solid run.

My secret is I go all the time so if I miss something it is no big deal.

It seems like if you follow the tips that everyone has given here, you will be ok. It sounds like they have it all figured out. I hit all of the non fast pass rides right off, Peter Pan is usually my first ride. I have a 5 yo DD.

Good luck, hope you have a ball, maybe I will see you, lol

If the runner has to push past others to catch up I get a little cranky.... Letting one or two of a party in under a rope without needing to push through is ok. If we found ourselves waiting for one of our party in line then if we got to a point where that person would have to push through others to catch up then we would let those behind go through until that person arrived.

Regarding RideMax and the runner option, the answer is "no". RideMax does not require the group to get in line. The difference in the runner option, as I understand it, is that RideMax is attempting to create an optimized itinerary by minimizing not only time waiting in line but also walking time. The runner option means it does not have to account for walking time for the runner and allows a slower moving group to move to the next attraction while the runner does their thing. So it changes how it counts up time and can result in a different itinerary.

As others have said, you can accelerate your RideMax schedule by getting in line for certain rides while the runner is gone and then have the runner rejoin you. When doing so I recommend only doing this for rides with exposed lines. A good example is Matterhorn, where almost the whole line (except for the very end) wraps around the mountain and it is easy for someone to step into line with you. Other rides that go inside a building are not exposed, and it is harder to do this and bad etiquette IMO.

Here are things I do with FP collection to parallel time and be more efficient:

1. I ride all rides at DLR parks - except for Star Tours. These type of rides make me feel ill. I can do Mission Space at Epcot just fine. But not ST. So I try to send my kids on Star Tours during a FP pickup window in the morning. While they are riding I head out to get FPs and then come back to meet them.

2. Shopping - I do shop at DLR but not as much as my kids or DW. So when they want to shop that is a good time to go get FPs.

3. Buying ride pictures. The line to buy pictures after Splash or Space can take 5-10 minutes. If my DW wants to buy a pic and it is a FP window then I will let her do that while I go get FPs.

4. As we have discussed, exposed lines. I can have my kids get in line for another ride like Matterhorn while I get FPs.

5. Leaving and entering parks - if everyone is ready for a mid-day break, then I try to send them back to the hotel near a FP window and then I get FPs and meet them back at the hotel.

ETA
6. Waiting for entertainment. After we grab a spot for the POD, for example, I will head off the get FPs and then come back.

Thanks for all the tips and hints! :thumbsup2 I got a little concerned with a couple of the itineraries because the walk times between rides didn't seem like enough, but as I play with it more I've found ones that seem to work better.

I'm starting to freak out a bit:scared1: . It's going to be packed when we're there, but I'm hoping between RideMax and all the great tips I've learned here I'll manuever through like a "DIS comando"

No worries Belle. :goodvibes

- If you have some good plans. (ride max)
- Get there early.
- Pick up FPs early & often.

You're ahead of 90% of the DLR visitors. & even if you don't go exactly according to plan (& it won't ;))....you're still OK. (Just get there early & get 3-5 FPs every morning to use every evening. :thumbsup2 )
