Ridemax does not factor in if you have tickets to Toontown Morning Madness. I am trying to swing a quick visit with Mickey in TT during that first hour. Am I correct that Morning Madness opens at 8ammto those with special tickets?

Any advice of how long a wait could be mid-week early August for Mickey, and how I should plan my Ridemax around that? We are going to spend that morning in FL, TL, and TT.

Thanks!

If park opening is at 8 a.m., then yes, Toontown opens at 8 to those who have tickets on Mon, Wed, Fri and Sat. The ceremony starts around 8:20-8:30, to give people time to get back there. I am not sure, but I don't think Mickey is available for pics before the ceremony-- anybody else know? What I do know is that his line for pictures and autographs in front of his house was immediately MOBBED and not everybody could get to see him then. I'm thinking it might not be an especially good time to get in a "quick" visit with Mickey, unless you can manage to be near the front of that line. I'm wondering if it might actually be easier to do on a morning that's not TTMM. Maybe on an early entry weekday, which would give you 2 hours to do other stuff, then take some time to be at the gates when Toon Town opens at 9 a.m.? I understand that even with the lines, it's a great way to visit with Mickey, to go see him in his "studio"-- you actually get a couple minutes of one-on-one time with him. (we have not done it; my kids aren't big character fans. I think I will do it for myself next time, though!)

Ok, maybe I had a bad idea! :rotfl2: I just wanted the picture opportunity. What time does TT close on a night where DL closes at midnight? Just wondering if trying to see Mickey at the end of the evening might be a better option. :confused3

We recently were at WDW and did a few Character Meals...so we won't be doing that this time. We are not going with kids so if we miss Mickey, it is not the absolute end of the world, but sure would be nice to see him! ::yes::

Mickey isn't kept in TT, he does get out and about. He's even over in DCA often!

If meeting Mickey is your only reason for going to MTTMM, and you don't have kids who might get you off track by peskily wanting to play in Goofy's house or going on Gadget's, then just stand near Mickey's house and as soon as you're allowed to get in line, get in line! Seems an easy way to meet Mickey, if you don't have anyone distracting you from your purpose. :goodvibes

We've been to TT both for MTTMM and also at the normal opening time of TT, and frankly, the normal opening was more of a madhouse. It was a cavalcade of strollers, lol (and we were one of them). You have the advantage of not having to park a stroller so even ifyou're behind people you're still ahead of the game, but if you HAVE MTTMM vouchers, I personally would use those and compete with those who have the vouchers and choose to use them that day, rather than compete with everyone in the park who wants to go to TT at opening on a regular day.

This is good to know. Didn't think about it, but I guess that even the crowds with TTMM tickets are always going to be less than a general opening. I wonder, if you have a little one who wants to watch the little "honorary citizen" show, you could have one adult hanging out by Mickey's house waiting to jump in line, while the other adult is watching the show and will bring the child over when it's done, and hand the kid to the parent in line.

Can you tell I hate waiting in lines? I'll do anything to get around it. ;)

Now I'll state that the ONE difference between my MTTMM experience and others' experiences is that our day involved a rainstorm. So the little ceremony song and dance thing was cut short as everyone raced for Mickey's house.

Minnie's house is more *fun*, with interactive stuff in the kitchen, but Mickey's House is fun to be in, while waiting for your turn.

On our day, there were characters throughout Mickey's house, and Mickey was the FIRST character we saw. He was right at the door, greeting people. As we went through the house we saw more characters, so the line wasn't really a "line", but walking slowly and meeting characters along the way.

When we went on a non-MTTMM, non-rainstorm day, Mickey was the ONLY character in the house, and he was beyond the "movie" room where you stand and watch something, and people are taken in about 6 at a time to a closed-door room for pictures with Mickey. They had a photopass photographer, too.

I still can't decide which I liked better!

Well now I'm just blathering, but I guess since you guys are interested in meeting Mickey in ToonTown, it's useful to you, right?

But we liked our recent meeting with Mickey in DCA, randomly seeing him over near the CM entry/exit near Sunshine Plaza, and Mickey's silly mistake and watching out for us (thought my son was with another family, and taking those kids and my kid to take a picture, then when he realized his mistake and Eamon came back to me, the clueless CM tried to send us to the BACK of the line, and Mickey made sure E and I were at the very front, letting the CM know she had goofed). :goodvibes

It says that? How odd.

With packages, you don't have to get the number of tickets that you're staying at a hotel, so MTTMM isn't normally connected with tickets, just with packages.

You have to have a ticket to get into Disneyland, but we weren't asked to show our tickets (and by the time we went to MTTMM we had upgraded to APs so didn't even have the "hoppers" available to show, if memory serves).

Interesting that it has such wording on the voucher.
