When do they usually shut down rides for refurbishment in the fall? We have never gone in the fall and would like to plan around the refurb schedule as much as possible.

Haunted Mansion will probably go down the Monday after Labor Day to get it's holiday install. Small World probably the second or third week (on a Monday) of October for it's holiday install. Matterhorn will typically go down in Sept for a refurb, usually either the day after Labor Day or the following Monday. Haunted Mansion is back up from the refurn and in NBC mode by the first of Oct usually. IASW will be up and running in holiday mode by the first weekend of November. They shouldn't need to do as long a refurb on the Matterhorn as it was down for over 3 months on the last one, but I'd say it'll be down for at least 3-4 weeks, possibly 2 months. My understanding is that the Matterhorn is getting new toboggans this time around, so testing them out on the track extensively will be required.

Thanks a bunch for the info! Maybe we should shoot for the first week in October? Or the last week of November?

When we went last fall the Aladdin show was also 'dark' as they re-cast the roles. Does this happen every September? We'd really love to see the show, and were planning to go again the same time of year.

NOooooooooooooooooooooo!!

I want to ride the Matterhorn and I am going September 24th - 1st October, I missed it last year and I need to do it as I don't know if I'll ever get back!
