Is the earliest I can find ride refurbishments dates just 6 weeks before my trip (when park hours are released)? We’re going January 15th-18th. I’m changing the trip dates if Space, Splash, Indiana, Guardians, Soarin’, or Incredicoaster are closed. I might be sad about others but I’ll deal with it.

At that time of year, what we know "for sure," is that it is probable that either HM or IASW will be down to remove the holiday overlays. Most likely it will be HM, then when it comes back, IASW will go down. On the bright side, ROTR will open on the 17th. Of the rides you listed, Splash might be down. With such a big attraction opening that weekend, it's hard to guess what Disney might choose to close or not for refurb during those dates.

Yeah, I don’t care too deeply about HM or IASW (although it would be great if they were open). Splash is the one I’m most worried about but I wonder if maybe they won’t close it when ROTR opens because it would be bad for them to take away all that ride capacity when they need to keep crowds away from SWGE.

I believe splash will be closed and grizzly will be open. Last Jan grizzly closed and splash open.

I didnt hear that. I go every year end of January and its always one or the other. The only year both were open was diamond celebration.....back in 2015 I believe! Damn I wish I bought all that limited merchandise during diamond celebration.

Well, we’ll see what happens... I’m hoping I’ll get lucky and they won’t close it because they’ll need the ride capacity when ROTR opens. If not, I’ll just change the trip dates (our flights are with Southwest so we can change them if we need to). I just can’t imagine Disneyland without Splash Mountain.

If Splash is a must do, I would probably stay away from January/February as those are iffy times for it.

I agree that January/February are iffy times for Splash and Grizzly just because they often close one or the other for refurbishment during the colder months of the year. Space, Indiana, GotG, Soarin’, and Incredicoaster don't really have a set refurbishment schedule. 45-days is about the earliest that they post refurbishment information, but even at that point, things can be added or removed without notice (which happens on a not infrequent basis).

The problem is we need to go in January or February or way later in the year and we would like to be there while Hyperspace is still open. We can change our trip dates without penalty though and I’d rather have regular Space and Splash be open than just Hyperspace.
