Let's start brain storming some fun Halloween Costumes for kids or adults to wear to Mickey's Halloween Treat. I know for my kids the costume has to be first and foremost packable. Next they have to be able to go on rides at DCA in them. My first choice would be to have them go as POTC pirate: characters- Elizabeth- dress or in her "pirate" garb, Captain Jack, and Will Turner. I would love some other ideas though! My dd at almost 11 is well past the princess: stage, and last year they all wanted to be "scarey" since this is Disney I've voted no scarey.

A couple of outfits that you might consider for a tweener female:

Bo Peep (Long pink/white dress, hat & shepherds crook)
Jessie (Cowgirl w/red yarn wig)
Jasmine (Silk pant-suit outfit w/black wig)
Wendy (Long night-shirt, with bows in her hair)
Peter Pan (Green tights, hat, pointy shoes and belt w/ sword)
Dorothy from Wizard of Oz (Blue & White pinafore w/ruby slippers & dog)

Thanks, great ideas! I would like them all to have the same theme. My favorite Halloween was the year that Daisy was The Cat in the Hat, and Adam and Joey were Thing One and Thing Two. If only those costumes still fit! Of course I probably couldn't get them to wear them even if they did. :teeth:

Ok I may have my niece with me as well, so almost 11 year old girl, 9 year old boy, 8 year old boy, 7 year old girl.

I could try to convince them to do Wizard of Oz, lots of possiblities there from Munchkin Mayor to The Wicked Witch. They could maybe do Wicked instead, almost the same characters but edgier for my crew. That gives me Glinda, Elphaba, Fiyero, and Doctor Dillamond or Boq

Maybe I should look at Disney on Broadway? I'm off to look at possiblities of Mary Poppins and Tarzan.

When we went on DCL last October one of the cutest costumes I saw was a family of Mousketeers ( :wave2: Hi Sparrow! ) They wore Mickey ears and White mock turtle necks with thier names on the front. It was so cute and super easy !

That does sound cute and super easy.

I think my kids have picked their costumes. I gave up on the matching! :teeth:

DD 10.5- Megara from Hercules
DS 9- Peter from Narnia
DS 8- Captain Jack from POTC
DN 7- Jasmin from Aladdin

The only thing I'm worried about now is that both boys want swords with their costumes and I'm not sure about packing them flying with them. I could wait and try to buy them at the World of Disney store in DTD but then I run the risk of them not having any. :confused3

I think McD's has inflatable swords out right now with their happy meals.
I haven't seen them but they may be worth looking into.

I think Oriental Trading has inflatable swords too.

I got my DD a pirate sword at the dollar tree for Pirate night on the cruise. We left it in the package and packed it in her suit case, it went through fine.

I read that OP has found her costumes, but as another idea for those readers with the same issues. . .

Consider Disney character HATS and use t-shirts to make the rest of the costume.

DS's name is Dale, so that made his character choice :thumbsup2 --but finding a costume was :faint:. Double that when I'm supposed to go as Chip and DH as Pluto.

I found Chip, Dale AND Pluto hats on eBay (from HKDL)! They are terrycloth visors. And while I probably wouldn't wear them elsewhere, they are going to be PERFECT for costumes at WDW this Oct! I bought plain brown t-shirts for DS and me. I'll sew white and black ribbons down the back to simulate chipmunk stripes. DH gets a gold/yellow t-shirt with green ribbon sewn around the neck to simulate Pluto's collar. All together I probably spent $60 (that's largely the cost of shipping from HKDL! LOL!), but we are going to be cool and the costumes are going to be practical and ride-worthy.

My advice: check eBay for those visitors who get buyer's remorse about their hat purchases at DL/WDW. "What in the world was I thinking when I bought this giant Stitch head? What am I going to do with it now?!" :teeth:
