We are headed to Disneyland for our April vacation (4/22-4/30). I'm bummed that more rides are going to be closed. The railroad is closed and the who part of the part for the starWars and now Grizzly River Run and Soarin. The Frozen stage show doesn't seem like its opening till the summer time either.

I'm thinking for a slower time its going to be crazy busy with some big things closed. Any thoughts for those that go all the time?

We are traveling from the East coast and already have our plane tickets so to late to change and want to be prepared.

Yes, unfortunately the more ride attractions that are closed, lines will be impacted for what remains available.
That is because where people would have been in que for the jungle cruise, now they are in your line over at Indy or BTMRR as example. Where people would have been waiting to board the train and the people already on the train, now they are in line at the Tiki room or the restrooms or...

Where did you find a refurbishment calendar that goes out to April? Was it Touring Plans?

I've seen it floating around and I believe it is TP. They list Autopia down until April too I believe, or maybe even longer. But it also lists Haunted Mansion as being down until April and I don't think that is correct.

Stinks they decided to close 2 big things as well as not have the show. Every time we plan a trip west major rides are always closed.

I hope that is incorrect about the jungle cruise and HM. Can't imagine why it would take almost 4 months to refurb those attractions.

:(

Hopefully several of these rides will be available during your trip. :)

If they're actually going to drain JC, I could see it taking that long.

I asked about Touring Plans because, as mentioned, the dates seemed a little suspicious for some of the closures. I've read that the Jungle Cruise is going down for a length refurbishment this year as they install the new automated docking system (it was in the Miceage article), and that Autopia is also going down because it's getting a new sponsor (same Miceage article). Those rumors have been floating around for a while, so it isn't too surprising to see them on that list. However, I'm a little suspicious that when there is a lack of a known end date, TP uses something like April 2 or June 2 as a placeholder date. It's like the closures for Rivers of America...they have end dates posted, but DLR has not yet announced any end dates (just saying it'll be more than a year).

Yes, those are good points to ponder.

And they have Main Street Train Station opening a full year earlier than the other train stations on their list.

While ride closure totally stink, especially when it's multiple E-tickets, I'd be glad that they gave you more than a week's notice, which has been the norm for the past few months.

This will be my 4th visit to DL and only once was GRR open! I swear my family and that ride are like star crossed lovers. This year we are staying at GCH and were stoked to ride GRR and pop back to the hotel.
Oh well, if that is it for DCA rides I'm cool with that. ToT or CS would have been soul crushing.
