RICHYAMS-Happy Birthday in Heaven

I was just checking out the Community Board and I noticed a Happy Birthday posting to Richyams. I don't think the poster realized that he is no longer with us, but it got me thinking about him and his love for WDW especially my favorite resort OKW.

You would've been 44 today, kind of hard to believe really. We still miss you and think about you every day...

Miss him here, too. Every time I see one of the "resort bashing" threads I remember Rich and how he used to complain about BWV with tongue planted firmly in cheek!

Think of Rich every time someone asks what to bring to OKW - want to tell them pigs feet but guess they wouldn't get it. I know that he is with you every day Lisa and Jacqui because of all the wonderful memories you created. Best wishes to all of you.

Ditto here... Everytime I see an OKW Grand Villa mentioned I think of Richyams Course then I often think about being able to sit on the BWV deck while being able to reach into the kitchen for a cold drink

Happy Birthday, Richyams. For many things, you'll never be forgotten. Like whenever DH or I don't like something, but don't want to be rude, we say, "Well, the glass is very clear" as Richyams said about BWV when he was trying to find nice things to say about it. And DH, who also loves OKW, is fond of saying, in memory of Richyams, "Well, some would say it's the only true DVC resort." And a few weeks ago, when a group of us (not all DISers) visited someone at BWV, one person's first comment upon enterring the villa was "Does anyone have a paper towel? I want to see if what Richyams said was right-that you can clean the whole villa with only one paper towel." Gone, but never forgotten.

When I met another DVCer this past May, we spoke about how we felt when we heard the news about "our" Richyams. You made so many of us laugh.
