Richard Petty Driving Experience-time of year?

DH really wants to do the Richard Petty Driving Experience at WDW. Problem is, we go in May-would that be too hot? Has anyone here done it in May and not keeled over from the heat? I think we should plan a trip in the cooler months for this, but he said that maybe it's too crowded and hard to get reservations. So those who've done it-what time of year was it? How hot? How hard to get reservations?

Since I am doing the "Riding" experience (don't know how to drive a stick, so that took care of the driving experience), I called and got some information on this.

She said that this is run year round (with the exception of when there is a race going on. I think the busier times of year will make it harder to get reservations.

I have the number I called at home. Will post it then.

Don't worry about the heat if you are doing the ride along. I went in my shorts and Hawaiian shirt!
