Richard Hammond critically injured

I did laugh at an interview Jeremy Clarkson gave just a few days after the accident. In it he said that they'd all discussed what would happen on the show if one of them died or had a serious accident during filming. He said that one of them would start the show by announcing that X has been seriously hurt and therefore they were unable to show the specific footage, that they wished x's friends and family all the best, that it was a tragic accident etc etc, themn he would turn to the camera and say 'Anyway, enough of that, the new Jag...' :rotfl2:
anyway, its great to see Richard up and about, hopefully he'll be back on our screens soon

I heard that too Carol, and also laughed. But I'm glad that Jeremy said later that he didn't really feel like during RH's accident.

Excellent news that he is making such a speedy recovery :)

BBC News Story: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/6088264.stm

Hammond has apparantly been given an "All Clear" at long last. He is still going to take some time off to rest up, sell his story, spend time with the kids etc..

Allow me to have a big sigh of relief for one moment:

- SIGH -

I am so glad he's all clear now! For the last couple of weeks I cowered whenever his name was mentioned in anything! I checked newspapers, RSS feeds, BBC news reports just in case anything bad happened. What a relief that he's OK now!

I might sound slight obessive about RH here, but the reason is simply because my first thought on the accident was that he was dead (I didn't hear much at the time), and the thought of him being dead, or about to die was kept in my head throughout the entire incident. Just the possibility of that happening was a real strain on my heart, and just hearing/reading his name was enough to make me really sad (could of cried a couple of times, but I was glad I was able to compose myself).

Anyway, enough emotional drivel. Let the "Thank God he's OK Smilie-fest" BEGIN!
