RFC vs. Kahunaville

I've never been to the Rainforest Cafe, but descriptions make it seem like a Kahunaville. Is this accurate? Or how are they different?

Maybe you could tell us a bit about Kahunaville. RFC is a jungle/tropical themed restaurant with animatronic figures and rain/thunder effects. It's fun

Been to both, many times. IMO Kahaunaville is a knock-off of the better themed RFC. While the fountain show is nice, when there's a "storm" at RFC and the animals move, it's a lot more entertaining. RFC does not have the game area that Kah has. BUt RFC does have a huge gift shop so you'll spend the same or more money than you'd spend on the games. I think portion sizes are bigger at RFC (remember this and share - unless you can take home leftovers!) But overall value for money about the same. In both you're clearly paying extra $$ for the entertainment. These are town of my DD (9) favorite restaurants.

Micca, Kahunaville is also a "jungle/tropical themed restaurant with animatronic figures" and a sort of dancing water fountain show, so I couldn't really tell from people's descriptions if both offered basically the same experience. The animatronics are limited to the entrance and one other small area in my local Kahunaville, and the description of the RFC's weather effects (thanks, Rpsemont!) sound more elaborate than what Kahunaville has.

My kids love Kahunaville (more for the games, but they do like the whole atmosphere), so I've been considering RFC for a future trip. Maybe a nice addition to the day at AK or part of an excursion to DTD. Thanks again for the input!
