I just joined yesterday. Just wondering if anyone else is a member already and if tehre are any little slightly unknown perks I may want to know.
I should get my coupons 2 - 4 weeks before we go to WDW. DH said it was worth the cost alone just to have PS included with the membership! ;)

I joined about a year and a half ago- I just recieved the first copy of "The Leaf"- a publication that lists benefits.

Since the RFC is owned by Landry's Restaurants- you and 3 guests get 10% off meals at any restaurant owned and operated by Landry's including Joe's Crab Shack, Landry's Seafood House, The Crab House, Willie G's Seafood and Steakhouse, Cadillac Authentic Mexican Restaurant, and Aquarium Underwater dining Adventure.

At RFC, you get your choice of a free chef's appetizer or the 10% discount. Also 10% off retail merchandise.

I think my $10 gift certificate arrived about 3 weeks after I joined. I also got a coupon for my birthday but I'm not sure how much or what it was for.

The priority seating I did not find very helpful- I still had to wait quite awhile at the Animal Kingdom location. I think that is the only time I used it though.

The only location near me is in Niagara Falls Canada and when I presented my card, they told me that this location did not honor the card because it was not affiliated with Landry's but I will have to call the 800 number listed in the newsletter because they do list them as an affiliate! I have visited locations in Las Vegas, Mesa, AZ, Downtown Disney and Animal Kingdom, Orlando. I have never had a bad meal there and it's always been a real dining experience!!! I guess I didn't use it enough to receive any more benefits- they say the more you use it, the more benefits you will recieve! I am guessing that they will send out more coupons or something like that.

I know Landry's has a website too- they might be able to give you more details!!

I joined last year. We went to RFC in Disney Marketplace. We did not have reservations. They took us to the front of the line immediately but still had to wait approx. 10 minutes to be seated but it felt great to bypass a lot of people. My son thought it was terrific. Just found out you get 10% of all meals and 15% off merchandise. Have never received anything yet for birthday.

Can you tell me more about this (their website is under construction).

What does it cost to join and what are the benefits?

:) thanks, tamie

Just to let you know you get coupons for your birthday $5.00 expires 6 months from birthday

Also you get anniversay coupon for the same.

Great perks for essentially nothing since you get the membership fee back the first time you use it.

as far as I can remember the fee is $10

Can someone tell me how to join? Can you join by web site. There isn't a Rainforest Cafe in the state I live.

I've been a member for some time and have enjoyed lots of discounts. The best thing though was at the DD location on our last trip...it was late and the lines were LOONG waiting to get in. We went to the front of the line and got right in.

I had read about the RFC Safari Club on the RFC web site, but never saw a mention of Canadian locations UNTIL I was at RFC a month ago and we signed up right away. We were at RFC Yorkdale in Toronto. Membership is $15 Canadian Funds, which is about $9.50 USF. We have a choice of 10% off our meals (up to 4 people) or a free appetizer. We were given a several choices of appetizers the first time but we picked the 10% off. The second time we used the card, we asked for the appetizer, they only offered one type this time, but I asked about the others and they gave us exactly what we wanted. We also will get $10 coupon in the mail, plus the$4.00 savings the first trip, $10 savings the second trip, plus $1.00 in the gift shop savings (dd bought $10 item and we get 10% off the shop). That's a total of $25 already and we will use the card often. We go to RFC all the time, so the Safari Club is worth while for us. There is also a point system for purchases in the gift shop. S

I called the toll free number and the lady I spoke with explained the whole deal to me. She gave me the address for Landry's and I mailed a paper with name, address, bday, anniv, along with a check for $15. We don't have a RFC near us but are going to Disney in May. The $10 gift cert and priority seating alone were enough for me to join. Plus she said it was a life time membership.

hope this helps you.

Join the Rainforest Cafe Safari Club and save at the Rainforest Cafes in Downtown Disney. It costs $15 to join -- you can enroll at any Rainforest Cafe or call 800-5LANDRY, option 8 and get details about how to enroll by mail. Your benefits include priority seating (you will be seated within 15 minutes), guaranteed reservations when made 24 hours in advance, a $10 certificate good toward your next meal at the Rainforest Cafe and 10% off your meals (including meals at other Landry's restaurants, like Joe's Crab Shack). On your birthday and anniversary, you will usually receive coupons by mail for $5 off.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I called the 800 number and spoke to a very nice lady named Mary. She said that the Landry's company was going to be implementing a points program in the near future where you can earn gift certificates.

Thanks everyone! :)
I paid $15. And too bad I joined AFTER we ate.
But still sounded like a good deal. :)
I know the guy mentioned a $10 certificate and a free appetizer and PS. That was good enough right there. ;)

I sent an email out to Landry's- it is located on their website- about the problems I had using my membership in Niagara Falls, Ontario. I got a phone call on Tuesday explaining how sorry they were but the franchises do not participate in the program. So if you plan on using the card during a vacation- it would probably be a good idea to make an inquiry on the RFC website first to make sure it is a participating restaurant.

They told me that they would make a note of that in the next issue of their newsletter.
