Can anyone tell me what characters they've seen at the Rewards Visa Meet N Greet in DCA? I'm wondering whether it is worth it for us, since we will be going to the Minnies Breakfast at Plaza Inn.

Years ago we always saw Mickey and Goofy or Chip and Dale (back when it was still at Ariel's Grotto). In more recent years it has been Chip and Dale or Pluto.

We went two weeks ago. It alternated between Pluto for half an hour, then Chip and Dale together for half an hour, then back to Pluto. These are the only characters we have seen there in the last year at least. Sometimes it goes the other way: Chip and Dale, then Pluto, then Chip and Dale again.

We saw Pluto back in January. It was great, we were the only ones in there so we had him all to ourselves! This is totally worth checking out. :thumbsup2

So just curious......are you able to do this meet & greet more than once on your trip???

Where is this meet and greet held?

Thanks!

It's at DCA in a little area to the right of Monsters Inc. There is a little sign on a stand that indicates that it's for the Visa Meet and Greet. There is a CM standing outside that you show your card to.

Unless it has changed recently, the MnG starts 1/2 hour after DCA opens and runs for only 1-1/2 hours. You can do it once a day and you will get a ticket for a free 5x7 photo for each Disney Visa Card you have. You can use the coupon for any PP taken, not just the one at the MnG. The coupon says your picture will be available for 24 hours but they are available the same 30 days as all PP pictures. If you are going for several days you can wait to use your coupons all on the same (last) day. It will save you some time. You can also save them for another trip if you want. I believe the current ones expire in Oct, 2010.

A few years ago Mickey and Pluto appeared. Now it is only Chip and Dale and Pluto (in 1/2 hour shifts). I was talking to one of the CMs there about the change from Mickey and Goofy and she said the only way to get them back would be to complain at Guest Services. Otherwise it'll keep being the same ones.

Just so everyone knows, you must show your Disney Visa Card to enter.

So are you saying that we can go into the photo place on our last (fifth) day with a stack of ten coupons (if we actually made it to the M & G all five days, which is doubtful) and they will give us ten photos free? Really?!:woohoo:

I have heard that this differs depending on the CM working. Some are really good about letting you get any of the pictures on your PP account, while others will only let you get the ones from the Visa MnG. It probably depends on how busy they are and what type of mood the CM is in.

As for getting a coupon for each card, I guess I never really though about that before. So......... if we showed the CMs at the MnG my card, and DH's card would we get two coupons? Hmm..... :rolleyes1

This only works if the cards are for separate accounts. If it's a joint account (same account number), then you get one coupon. They do check. They also check to make sure your credit card has not expired. The CM I talked to last time took extra time looking at our card and then apologized saying that her manager had just warned her to pay more attention because many people were using expired credit cards to go to the Meet and Greet.

I was only given a hard time with this once-they were training a batch of new PP workers and they said no. After a small discussion the Lead said I could but only this one time. :rotfl: That was several years ago. I haven't had an issue since. If you don't get the answer you like go back wen someone else is working. Also, you can't do this at DL, only DCA.

Good to know. :thumbsup2 Thanks for clarifying.

The photo place in DCA is in Greetings from CA, right? It has been so long since I paid attention to it because we usually never get pics printed while there. I thought that is where I remember seeing it, but was not sure. And if it is where I remember, I though that I had just seen the the AP processing center for DCA had just moved in there (from the pics I've seen it looks like the same counter), being re-located due to the Food and Wine festival. Can anyone confirm? :confused3

Yes, the photo place is in Greetings from CA in DCA, and yes, they moved the AP processing center to one of the photo counters in Greetings of CA. That store has a total of 3 photo counters, but any of the times we've been during the last couple of years they were only doing Photopass at the one closest to the doors that are closest to the park entrance. They were still using this counter when we were there 2 weeks ago.

On another note, for those people planning to get new APs who were wondering about the DCA processing center, there was never anything going on there any of the 6 or 7 times we passed by it during our 4-day visit, but there were always at least 2 CMs standing there ready to assist people, so it seems like it would be a good place to get a new AP processed. (At least until word gets out.)

Cool, thanks! :thumbsup2
