Revisiting General Avail. vs. DVC Availability

For those of you who remember our saga, I've been on the waitlist for BCV's for labor day... last week I was a bit miffed because there were cash reservations available (1000.00 for three nights in a studio), but there were no DVC reservations available...

Well, I called today, we're within the 7 day window & sure enough, MS was able to call over to BCV's & I think switch some of the cash availability... I know that's one of the things that was mentioned last week, that at the last minute, if the room is going empty on cash, they can switch it to points, that's apparently what's happened here....

So, we're going to the BEACH CLUB VILLA'S for labor day, I'm thrilled!!!

That is great news. It doesn't make sense for the rooms to go empty. When we were they in August although they were booked on points the villas seemed pretty empty. You will love it!

Glad they came through for you! Did you have to suggest to ms that they call and check availibility for you or did they do that on their own? I have a waitlist for Sept 19. and am starting to get a little panicky..........I just keep saying ....it will come through, it will come through.

SamSam, I did not have to ask her to call over to the resort, she suggested it... I knew there were cash nights available, so when she said that, I KNEW I'd be getting those nights!! We are due to check in this coming Saturday... I called Monday morning first thing, that's the first business day within the seven day timeframe, I'm assuming maybe that's the earliest they can do this, as I'd called last week to check on another reservation & they couldn't (or at least didn't) offer to call the resort
