Revised: PotC Refurb showing as beginning 2/15/09

11/17/08: Another correction: The Disneyland calendar page now DOES show POTC to be going into refurb on 2/15/09, and being down through February. The March schedule is not yet up, but I'd assume that the original plan is in place for it to be down through March 19th.

11/03/08: I originally posted the below info in early September, but some posters found it and somebody pointed out that PotC is no longer showing up on a refurb schedule... so it could be either that DL is not going to do the refurb right then, or it could be that they are and have just not definitely made it official. As with everything Disney, it's always subject to change without notice!

Finally got a reply back from guest communications today about the rumored PotC refurb. Here it is straight from the horse's mouth:

Thank you for your e-mail to the DISNEYLAND® Resort. We appreciate you

We apologize that you may have been given incorrect information. Pirates
of the Caribbean and the Blue Bayou is currently scheduled for a
refurbishment from February 15, 2009 through March 19, 2009. This was
originally scheduled for January. Please keep in mind that all
refurbishments or events are subject to change at any time without
notice. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Again, thank you for contacting us. We hope you will have the
opportunity to visit the DISNEYLAND® Resort soon and that our
attractions and entertainment will delight you in every way.

I'm not worried about me . . . .I'm local and I go on POTC all the time--but last year there were quite a few ladies who had never been to DLR--and it was cool that they got to experience it and see the differences from WDW. Oh well--you're right--something's always going to be down . . . . at least IASW will be back up

Im not for certain trodrigue but somewhere floating around was the rumor you cant just go to BB for dessert anymore and not knowing if you were planning to do dinner there as well I thought I should throw that out there...maybe someone can tell us for sure???

No, you can. It's been confirmed recently that it's ok. It's possible that if you call up for PS's and say specifically "We only want dessert" some misinformed dining reservation CM may tell you you can't, but the servers at BB always say it's just fine. Nobody gets to dictate what you order when you get there! Just make regular PS's, don't say, "dessert only" when you reserve.

Seems weird that they would close the ride on a long weekend? You would think they would close it on Tuesday after the holiday.

Actually it makes perfect sense as spring break will bring bigger crowds than valentine's day. They would want it back open for those crowds.
