Saturday, May 24th
After an amazing morning at AK (mostly in Dinoland) including DS's 1st time on Primeval Whirl, we were starved. They were already serving lunch at Flame Tree, but still breakfast at Tusker. We decided on Tusker...

5/24, breakfast, Tusker House
DH ordereda ham and cheese croissant, I had the egg and sausage biscuit...they both came with hash brown potatoes which were tossed with peppers and cheese. This was a very good breakfast for counter service. We had been here before for other things (i.e. cappucino) and always liked it. The kids split a cream cheese muffin. They finished it so I assume they liked it!!
The atmosphere there is not typical of a fast food joint. Well-themed...you feel like you are about to go on safari.

Overall rating: 7 (very high for fast food!!!)

Our swim date with the twins my kids met was cancelled due to lightning (they closed down the pool). We hung around the conciege lounge until it was time for our PS at 'Ohana. The dinner samplings in the concierge lounge were chicken soup and a kind of sausage and peppers...I was glad to be going out...

5/24, dinner, 'Ohana

The meal is family-style here. Everything is place in the center of the table on a lazy susan. This was our second time here and we asked this time to be seated "near the action" and were brought to a great table near the windows facing MK.

Appetizers were sauteed veggies and veggie fried rice (the two things in the meal that were NOT sweet)...shrimp dumplings, coriander honey chicken wings, salad with honey lime dressing. These were all quite good, but by the end of the meal I did get sick of all the sugar in the food. I understand it is a "hawaiian" theme, so that makes one think of sweet things like pineapple and such, but things started to all taste the same to me after awhile.

Later on they brought out the meat skewers, but left the appetizers out so that we could request more if we'd like...
We had shrimp, pork, turkey, and steak. My favorite was the turkey (very juicy) and steak. There were dipping sauces - peanut (my favorite, but again sweet), barbeque, and fruit sauce.

For dessert they brought out pineapple and caramel sauce. The sauce it yummy, but the pineapple wasn't ripe.

Service was very good, we liked our waitress. The kids participated in the coconut races and received gummy worms for their effort. they did not do the hula contest.

Also my daughter made mention that it was my birthday to the hostess who wrote it on our seating card (my actual b'day was the 25th), but our waitress didn't seem to know about this.

Overall rating: 7, might go back from time to time, but in no hurry. The food quality was great, but just too sweet...

Next up for review...Roaring forks, California Grille and Market Street Cafe (Celebration).

We ate at O'Hana just a few days earlier. I agree with all of your commments except the meat. Our meat was so badly charred and dry, we couldn't eat it. It was like lumps of coal. Horrible. :( Also, our waiter was in such a rush when he came around with the skewer that he didn't even ask what we wanted. He just quickly plopped the shrimp and pork on our plates and was gone before we could get out a word. I don't like shrimp (or any shellfish) so I wasn't too happy about that. My sis thought the shrimp was great, but agreed with me on all of the meats. Not even edible. I was very disappointed with our O'Hana visit.

Our first visit I found the meat was dry and overcooked. This time however it was very good. But what's funny was the shrimp I thought was my least favorite...they were not worth the mess they made having to peel them...

They were quite busy that night as well. It took a long time before we were brought the steak and turkey...

Thanks for the reviews. I also found my first time at 'Ohana that the meats were dry, but last time they were perfect! :)

Wow I hope the dry meat isn't the norm at 'Ohanas we loved our first visit there and thought that all the meats and the service was excellent but I'd hate to be disappointed the next time we go.

I think that it's hit or miss with the meats here...maybe if you get a dry pice of meat, ask for some from a different skewer...
