Has anyone eaten here lately?? Would you recommend it?? Photos?? Entertainment?? Thanks for the help ;)

It was by far my favorite place to eat our last visit a year ago and I can't wait to go there again. All you can eat. They bring you buckets with meat (chicken and ribs), corn bread, corn on the cob, salad and I forget what else. We didn't have a reservation and had to wait about 20 minutes at prime dinner time (6:00 pm or so). Well worth the price. Best bang for your buck IMO.

Another of our favorite places. No complaints this last August.

We really like it. My kids love the food. I wish they included beverages in the price.

The last time we were there our table was next to the pet area and bathroom. I am very sensitive to smells and "goat smell" doesn't really go with bbq. Just ask for a different table if you are placed in that area.

We ate there in July and loved it. My middle DD said it was her favorite meal of the whole trip. We will be going again in October. I know a lot of people say $20 is a lot for a meal but, we don't mind spending the money if the food is good.

We loved it, and went twice during our visit last week. Once for lunch, and once for dinner. I preferred the dinner myself because of the corn on the cob. Service was great and the entertainment was hokey but fun. Enjoy!

We went both last July and then again in September and it would get our family's thumbs up!!

The quality of the BBQ was just fair, but overall the meal was very good, the theme and entertainment was also very good.

One must have, even though extra is the dessert, we loved the Baked Chocolate Chip Cookie with Ice Cream, just order before you are done, it takes a few minutes.

What's the difference between lunch and dinner aside from corn on the cob? I was thinking of doing a lunch and a dinner there on our next trip.

Three dollars.

At dinner the additional items are smoked sausage and corn on the cob. Otherwise, the menu is identical.

yup, there is corn and sausage for dinner but that's all. We like to do this for lunch, it's an extreme amount of food and we don't need anything else after. :) Like the rest of the day we are stuffed, until about 10 pm and then we grab a churro or something for a snack. :) We've never done dessert but have heard good things about it. :)

Drinks and food are all you can eat, just ask for more when you get low, the servers we've had have always been great about asking before we have to ask them tho. :) I absolutely 100% LOVE the cole slaw (not salad, just the slaw), it's the best I've ever had, we go through 2-3 bowls of it!! I've never not liked eating there, the service and food is good, the entertainment is silly but it's fun. I recommend it.

Yea that's right. I forgot it was cole slaw. I'm not a salad or coke slaw person. I love the meat, bread and corn. And I had the same experience with the servers. They were great at asking us if we needed more of anything.

Highly recommend it. Cheapo that I am I can do without the corn on the cob and save the money. Plus, as I said to our waiter, you can eat til you barf. Ribs are good, entertainment great and you don't have to eat the rest of the day.

I love the slaw so much that I have the recipe and make it regularly at home in the summer......the best slaw I have ever had! lol

Went in Sept and we all loved it. Going back in June for sure.

We just ate lunch there on Friday.......super delicious!!! You get a bucket of chicken & ribs, coleslaw, beans & cornbread!! All of it is very good. If you run out of something, they'll bring out more......so you won't leave hungry!!

The entertainment is a tad corny.....but fun.....they sing songs, interact with the crowds....sometimes they bring a few kids on stage to help them do a song.......you'll enjoy the show more but joining in with clapping & singing!!

Here's a pic of the food:

ENJOY!

Thank you for the pics, looks yummy!

Question - what is the souvenier cup that they advertise on the menu?

Could you share the recipe please??

I have the recipe too. Here it is:

Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue Cole Slaw
Serves 6 to 8

1/2 cup white-wine vinegar
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 teaspoon coarse salt
1/2 teaspoon celery seed
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 cup olive oil
1 pound shredded green cabbage (about 1/2 large cabbage)
1 pound shredded purple cabbage (about 1/2 large cabbage)
2 carrots, shredded

  1. Combine vinegar, sugar, salt, celery seed, paprika, black pepper, and cayenne in a blender; blend on low speed until sugar is dissolved.
  2. With blender running, slowly pour oil through top of lid, processing until dressing is combined. Set aside.
  3. Combine shredded cabbage and shredded carrots in a separate large bowl. Add dressing, tossing to combine. Refrigerate for 2 hours, tossing occasionally, before serving.
