Hello - my DH really wants to try Citricos for dinner. Can you please share the good, bad and ugly (and yummy!)?

Thanks!

My husband and I went there for the first time in October. Actually it was on Halloween.

The restaurant was very beautiful. We were seated at a table by the window which over looked the court yard at the Grand Floridian. It was fun to watch all of the families walking by in their Halloween costumes on their way to the Magic Kingdom.

We had a great waiter who made many menu suggestions. My husband ordered everything that the waiter suggested and loved it. For an appetizer he had something like a crab cake but my husband said it was ten times better. I had the fried risotto which was excellent. For dinner I believe my husband had a fish dish which he loved. I had a pork dish with pork cooked three different ways. Very good. For dessert I had fresh berries in cream which was delicious. The berries were so fresh. We also did the wine pairing with each course. That was a lot of fun. Over all I’d go back to this restaurant in a heart beat. We really enjoyed it.

We've been there twice on DDP and really enjoy it but it's not a must-do for us like FF, CG and Jiko. I'm not sure why. It's super elegant and a great menu but it doesn't quite have as much of a WOW factor for us. It's excellent but not quite OMG you HAVE to go to this place -KWIM? I put Artist Point in the same category

We ate there last September. My mother joined us. It was good, but not "great," especially for the prices.

The place is very elegant. Service was pretty good.

We all shared two appetizers, the crab cake app and the app that has shrimp in a garlic/wine broth. They weren't bad, but they were just rather bland.

For entrees, we all had the filet mignon. Dh's was undercooked (totally rare when he ordered medium) and had to be sent back. Not the end of the world. Again, the steaks were okay, but none of us were wowed. Mom and I did notice when we walked through the restaurant to powder our noses, that the cuts of beef are extremely thick. We saw many being prepared and plated. Just something to keep in mind when ordering if you're steak eaters. Every table around us at some point had to send something back to the kitchen. I do recall that.

We shared a few desserts. I want to say the cheesecake and maybe a creme brulee and a warm banana/chocolate thing. Again, they were okay, but not very memorable.

We did the wine pairings and each had a cup of coffee. Our bill with tip was over $300. I did not think the meal was worth that much money -- not when you've got places like Jiko and Bistro on property, not to mention V&A for a just a little more money. We're glad we went and tried it. We'd been very curious, but we always choose Jiko for our "special" meal. The hotel is beautiful. We went early and hit the lounge next to Citricos.

Hope you enjoy it if you decide to go. Let us know what you think if you do :)
