We ate there last September. My mother joined us. It was good, but not "great," especially for the prices.
The place is very elegant. Service was pretty good.
We all shared two appetizers, the crab cake app and the app that has shrimp in a garlic/wine broth. They weren't bad, but they were just rather bland.
For entrees, we all had the filet mignon. Dh's was undercooked (totally rare when he ordered medium) and had to be sent back. Not the end of the world. Again, the steaks were okay, but none of us were wowed. Mom and I did notice when we walked through the restaurant to powder our noses, that the cuts of beef are extremely thick. We saw many being prepared and plated. Just something to keep in mind when ordering if you're steak eaters. Every table around us at some point had to send something back to the kitchen. I do recall that.
We shared a few desserts. I want to say the cheesecake and maybe a creme brulee and a warm banana/chocolate thing. Again, they were okay, but not very memorable.
We did the wine pairings and each had a cup of coffee. Our bill with tip was over $300. I did not think the meal was worth that much money -- not when you've got places like Jiko and Bistro on property, not to mention V&A for a just a little more money. We're glad we went and tried it. We'd been very curious, but we always choose Jiko for our "special" meal. The hotel is beautiful. We went early and hit the lounge next to Citricos.
Hope you enjoy it if you decide to go. Let us know what you think if you do
