Going straight there from the airport and we are going to be jetlagged as we are coming from the West coast of Canada. Best mode of transport? The trains in Europe are so confusing and we are going to be tired, so I thought we'd take the VEA but according to the schedule it looks like only 3 of them leave CDG a day and since our flight arrives at 8:30 am I don't want to wait around until 11:50 to catch it.

We have a crew 6 room and I didn't book half-board. Is it worth it? We don't want to be tied down to eating at the hotel or in Disney village.

Any other feedback will be appreciated.

Thanks!

We stayed at explorers before going on to our Disney hotel, I preferred explorers and wish we could have stayed longer, we booked a room for 4 but were upgraded to a crew 6 room when we got there, double bed, 2 singles and an adjoining room on accessible from the does room with bunk beds. Tv, safe, kettle, I was really happy with it. Hotel itself was fab, big lagoon pool with slides open till late, play area, breakfast was fab and staff were friendly.

No, half board isn't particularly good value.

However, the Explorers do quite a nice takeaway pizza, and the Earl of Sandwich in the village is very popular if you do eat outside of the parks.

Have a fantastic time. The Explorers is definitely the best off site hotel, and the pool is fab :thumbsup2

For your tranfer from CDG to the Explorers you have a list of shuttle companys (with their websites) in this thread that people use

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1004423

RS Transports, Ezyshuttle and Tio Shuttle are the most used and recommended ones :thumbsup2

Seeing as you are 5 it will be cheaper to take one the above shuttles than a TGV train transfer or a VEA bus anyway

yep, as Carrie says, just book a shuttle company to take you from the airport straight to your hotel.

We've stayed at Explorers before and I highly recommend it, Never done half board although have sometimes been tempted...We like to visit Paris while we're there also so we'd end up spending more though as we'd be eating in Paris one day.

Transfers...Again highly recommended is a company called Tio. We're using them for our rip in Feb and have used them once before. Driver was lovely, took us on a little detour to do a bit of sight seeing, arrived when he said he would, generally very friendly and reliable service. I think we're paying 150 euros for return transfers for the 5 of us which I think is a bargain for stress free travel :thumbsup2 Also great communication, I've always had rreplies to emails within a couple of hours, even at weekends etc.

Hope this helps x

Do you have to prepay? I always feel nervous with prepay in case they don't show up...I've heard too many horror stories! In US cities and in London I usually book shuttles that you don't have to prepay. They have always been there but I have the added reassurance that if they don't show, I can take a cab and then I won't have to pay twice!

no, you don't have to prepay, you can choose to pay the driver when you have arrived at your hotel.

But don't worry the 3 companies mentionned above will turn up otherwise we wouldn't be recommending them time after time :goodvibes

The ones that are problematic are the shuttle services that you'd get from CDG to Paris or Paris to CDG. They are notorious for no show, that's why you'd always get a taxi from/to CDG from Paris.

Airport-City shuttles aren't usual here at all - The taxis are all official metered Taxi Parisien and take their job seriously. A license is not easy to get and no one wants to lose theirs.

After reading tripadvisor reviews and your recommendations, I'm going to try Ezyshuttle. I've emailed them and I'm waiting for a response. I've asked about CDG to Explorer's, Explorer's to Paris, Paris to CDG. I'll let you know what they say.

I like that I don't have to prepay:)

Any other tips greatly appreciated!
