OK, we tried many new places because of this board so it's my turn to help people. We had a kitchen in the room so we didn't do a lot a breakfasts this trip.
Day one
At 2:30 we realized that we had not feed our kids since 4:30 in the morning ( can you say bad mom?) We went to Columbia Harbour House. The food was very good. We had the fish and chicken plates, the clam chowder, and the kid's mac and cheese.
Kid's meal good and bad. I love that they now come with fruit. I thought it was weird that the kid's chicken is grilled and chilled. My son would have eaten grilled but not chilled.
Day two
We had lunch at Rainforest at AK. The problem was that we waited until the boys told us they were hungry. By that time they were starving. It was a 40 min. wait and it was cold. Once we were seated it was great. We used an adult and a kids voucher. The waiter let us use both for adult meals. We split the huge appetizer, got two steak and lobster dinners, two drinks, and the Volcano for the vouchers. We paid for 1 kid's chicken, extra fries ( the boys need food fast), and three drinks.
Cost of food if we had not had the vouchers-$137, cost we paid for other-$18. I think we save quite a lot of $.
We had dinner at Cosmic Ray's. My husband about died when I came back with a double bacon, cheese burger and an extra bun. He thinks I am so cheap but we had plenty of food. The kids ate chicken and MIL loved the hot dog. The only problem is that one DS hates Cosmic Ray's singing. We have to sit far away and he still complains.
Day three
We ate at Les Chefs de France. I liked it a lot, so did one DS. The rest of the party thought it was just OK. DH got the lunch deal. He loved the French onion soup but thought the sandwich was so so. Mil felt the same about the quiche and other DS hated the kid's meal burgers. I had the escargot and DS had the kid's chicken.
For dinner we went to the ABC Commissary. We only went in to wait out the crowds from Fantasmic to Osborne lights. I am glad we did. I don't remember what everyone had but DS and I loved the noodles. It was nice because it was something different at a counter service restaurant. OK now I remember, I got a double burger with an extra bun again for DH and other DS. Yes I was called cheap again.
Day four
We ate at Plant Pizza. Last year my boys loved it so much we ate there three times. This time one of them hated it. He said the pizza was bad. I thought it tasted the same.
That night DH and I went alone to Epcot and ate our way around the desserts. We loved the peanut butter thing from Germany and we thought the cannoli was OK. I can't remember anything else, sorry. MIL took the boys to Artist's Pallet and she said it was good.
Day five
We bought sandwiches from The Earl of Sandwich and took them back to our room. They were great. We also had ice cream at Ghirardelli's. This place was so good. It will now be a must do every trip.
At MVMCP we went back to Cosmic Ray's and yes I still got the extra bun and DH yet again told me I was cheap.
Day six
We went to Crystal Palace for breakfast. This is DH's favorite place to eat. It was again great.
We went to Whispering Pines for dinner. We will never again do two big meals in one day. The food was great but we just were not very hungry. The boys loved all the antics and watching DH do the buttercup dance was a highlight of my trip ( and maybe my marriage).
Day seven
We ate at L'Originale Alfredo. We used one voucher for the meal. The food was very good. We got the pizza for the appetizer. I thought it was funny when DS asked what the sauce was that came with his chicken. The waitress told him it was Italian ketchup. This was the only reason he tried it. I had the shrimp alfredo. It was good but it had a red sauce and I would have preferred the Alfredo sauce. DH had the chicken Parmesan, MIL had the sampler, DS1 had the spaghetti and meatballs and DS2 the chicken. They all loved there food. We had the dessert sampler. I love trying a little bit of everything. MIL had the cannoli which she loved.
Day eight
We played eat all the food that is left before moving from SSr to AKL. MIL went home that day. We had a late lunch at Mara's. I used my two Q&C vouchers. We only paid for one kid's meal and an extra bun. DH had by now figured out either A. how much $ I was saving us or B. that he had better stop telling me how cheap I was. We ate dinner at Boma. We tried it because of the Dis boards. While waiting for our table we played truth or dare, so if you saw anyone do any strange dances ( little tea cup, hula, the twist ) or a woman standing by the stairs saying " hello my name is Jamie and my husband is always right", it was us. We didn't care for the food. I thought it would have a lot of Cinnamon but all we could taste was curry. DH and I are not big fans of curry. The soups were very good. Now our waitress was excellent. I wish I could remember her name.
Day nine
We went to Restaurantosaurus for breakfast. The food was good but not as good as CP. Now we had another great waiter, Neil. One DS had left his Animal Kingdom binoculars in a bathroom. When he and DH went back they were gone. He was very upset and crying when Donald ( his favorite ) and Mickey came around. He was fine after he ate about 5 donuts. The waiter made sure we were able to go see them again after we ate. We went in another room and took pictures with them. We even got one of the boys with Mickey and Donald. If it turns out it will be our Christmas card.
For dinner we went to Jiko's. We didn't have PS but we only waited about 40 min. Yet again that was us playing truth or dare. I couldn't pick truth because DSs wanted to ask me what I bought them for Christmas. The food was great. It was make a trip if staying at a different hotel great. One thing we loved was how good and cheap the kid's meals were. It was nice to have a great meal at an expensive place without spending a ton of $ on the kids that don't eat much to begin with. One thing I didn't like was the kid's mac & cheese. It was white and I thought it tasted funny. Now my son loved it and ate almost all of it. My other son loved his pizza. I had the monk fish and I had to stop myself from licking the plate. DH had the fillet and he said it was excellent. It also came with the noodles but he didn't like them either. At one point the waiter came over with a phone call for the boys. It was Goofy wishing them a happy meal. My kids loved it.
Day ten
Last day, We went back to CP for breakfast. DH has decided that this is now our family tradition. We must eat here on our last day Disney World. It was as always great.
We also had snacks but it was always ice cream and very good. One time we did get grapes at MK and it made me fell better as a parent. The biggest difference between this trip and last years was the quality of the waiters. Last time it wasn't pretty. I waited tables for ten years so it is a pet peeve of mine. This trip we had all very good and a lot of excellent. The best were at
Rainforest
Whispering Canyon
Boma
Restaurantosaurus
Jiko's
So this is very long but I hope it helps people as much as other people's have helped me.
