OK, let me just say that the chocolate chip cookies at the McDonald's in Downtown Disney were wonderful. Perhaps all Florida McDonald's have them, but we don't have chocolate chip cookies that good here in St. Louis. It was on par with a Mrs. Fields cookie (perhaps even bigger in size) and although I can't remember the exact price, it was a bargin.

Ghirardelli was a big disappointment to me (and I love Ghirardelli chocolate!). When I arrived with my DD 3, there were several tables open (all dirty). I ordered the bownie sundae, and just a vanilla cone for my daughter. I cleaned my own table and waited for my order. The brownie tasted underdone and powdery. The ice cream was OK (nothing to rave about), but I swear this sundae had less than 2 teaspons of hot fudge on it (even though it claims to be over-flowing with hot fudge). The Brownie Obsession at TGI Fridays (which claim to use a Ghirardelli brownie and hot fudge sauce) is much, much better. Before my DD and I had finished an employee was standing over us waiting for us to leave and clean the table (amazing since I had to clean it myself just a few minutes earlier).

Earl of Sandwich was very good (I ate here twice, but had the same sandwich both times). I had the All American (at least I think that is what it was called). The turkey was very thin sliced (perfect for me), the cheese, cranberries (yes, cranberries), and I forget what else was very unique and great tasting. The bread was warm and very flavorful. I certainly think 2 people could split one sandwich (especially if you would add a side salad or chips).

Can hardly wait to try Earl of Sandwich as it seems to get great reviews. Your right, that's the American sandwich, and it's definitely on my list!

Thanks again for the review!

We are going to try Earl Of Sandwich on next visit.::yes:: :wave2:

Hmmm.. we had planned to go to Ghirardelli. Sorry you had a not too good experience there. Thanks for the report! :)

Thanks for the Earl review - we're planning to stop there on our way in next month - It sounds wonderful. I love turkey sandwiches with Cranberries! Yum!

We also had a great meal at the Earl's. We so loved the "Scudetto" sandwich (from the specials board) that we bought one to take on the ride home! It had salami, italian ham, mozzarella and tomato with italian herbs. Not to be missed and definitely big enough to share.

Friend of Pooh;

Was that Scudetto sandwich cold or warm. I was thinking of getting sandwiches there and putting them into my insulated "Sam's Club" bag (btw, the bag works great) and taking them for our Illuminations boat ride. I wonder how the sandwich held up until you were ready to eat it. The 3 ladies is our group are getting massages at SSR that day and will meet up with the guys for the boat ride and we know they will be hungry!

Thanks!

Sorry for the delayed response. The Scudetto is served hot. We kept it in the car for about 5 or 6 hours before eating it, and although it certainly wasn't hot anymore it was still delicious. Please keep in mind that it is not on the permanent menu, and it was just listed as a special. They had it the whole week from 9/12-9/18, however, so maybe it's a long-term special.

Here in NY, we have chocolate chip cookies at McDoanlds. They are very good and addictive!

It's funny, when Ghiradelli first opened a few years ago, I think it was much better. The last time I went (two years ago) I felt it had really slipped. The service and taste just wasn't there. I went again last year and just got DD a cup of vanilla, and I just got a soda.

Two thumbs up for the Earl of Sandwich!

Four of us, one a very fussy eater, had a great late lunch during our last visit to the WDW. Everybody found their selections to be tasty and very well prepared. The menu prices are reasonable for WDW.

The menu can be viewed on-line at Deb's website.

Have a great trip.:wave:

Earl of Sandwich is my new fav place to eat at WDW. I had a chicken sandwich with spinach & my friend had some kind of meat (ham I think ) with pineapple. We both loved them. It was also our least expensive meal. We even planned to eat there again later on during the week, but we got caught in a storm when we were walking near the McDonald's & we ran in there to get out of the rain. Unfortunately for us the rain lasted over an hour so we decided just to eat in there.
