Friday was our Star Wars Day at MGM.

We bought some snacks for us to eat while we waited for the Star Wars parade (I forget the name of the place)

DH - chocolate shake
DW - spicy cheese pretzel (pretty yummy) and frozen lemonade
DS7 - regular pretzel and chocolate shake

We had a late ADR (2:45) at Sci Fi Diner for lunch. The food has not improved since our last trip in 2001. When we were waiting to be seated, people without ADR's were being turned away or told to return after 9:00 p.m. When we were seated inside there were at least 10-12 empty cars.

DH & I split burger and onion rings. Burger was dry and I only ate half of my half. Onion rings were yummy. I had to ask for drink refills.

DS7 & DS2 split mac & cheese. DS2 wouldn't touch it. DS7 had a chocolate shake and thought it was good.

Dinner: Pizza Planet

DH - pepperoni pizza and side salad
DW - side salad
DS7 & DS2 split cheese pizza

Food here is strictly for the kids. The salad was iceberg lettuce and one cherry tomato. I'm glad I passed on the pizza - it didn't taste very good.

Snacks - We split a popsicle and tollhouse ice cream cookie sandwich. The cookie sandwich was yummy. I could have ate a whole one myself - sorry I had to share witht he DS's!!

Day 2 at Epcot later...

5/27

Saturday we spent the day at Epcot.

Breakfast: Little stand between Canada and UK

DH: cheese danish - good
me: cinnamon roll - split with DS7 - roll was ok
DS7: poptart in the room
DS2: poptart in the room

Lunch: Biergarten in Germany. This was the first time we ate at TS. It was dark and cool. We were seated right next to the dance floor :dance3: and had a great view of the show.

DH: bratwurst, potato salad, roasted potatoes, chicken, cheesecake, black forest cake. I forget what else he had on his plates (two trips + dessert)
me: potato salad, chicken, some kind of German meatball, roasted pork with mustard sauce, spatzle with red wine sauce, pretzel bread, roasted potatoes, black forest cake, cheesecake, apple strudel
DS7: mac & cheese, pretzel bread, potato, cheesecake
DS2: mac & cheese, pretzel bread, cheesecake

Neither one of us cared for the german potato salad. It didn't taste like the german potato salad my German MIL makes at all. :confused3 The chicken was very bland, tasted like no seasonings. The german meatball was very good, as was the roast pork with mustard sauce. I had two helpings of the pork. I also had two helpings of the spatzle with the red wine sauce which was my favorite part of the meal. I didn't care for any of the desserts, neither did my DS7. I'm not sure this is a meal I would repeat on future trips, but it was nice to try it at least once.

We were so full from the lunch buffet, we didn't stop for dinner, just strawberry margaritas from Mexico. I felt very sick  after drinking my margarita and thought if I had some food in my stomach I would feel better. After buying a Mickey ice cream sandwich and an ice cream tollhouse sandwich cookie for the kids, we headed to the CS Japanese restaurant (Yakitori, I believe).

Snack/Dinner
me: beef/chicken combo plate with rice

The chicken was decent, but the beef was awful. It was like shredded beef, not at all what I expected. My DS7 asked why the restaurant smelled so bad, and for once I had to agree with him, that it didn't smell very appetizing. :crazy2: I ate my chicken and rice as fast as I could and left. I was really looking forward to trying the CS in Japan, but I won't eat there again.

Later, Day 3 we meet Stitch :stitch2: and take on the MK pixiedust:

Sunday, 5/28

Today was the day we finally see the Magic Kingdom - YEAH :cool1: Before we visit the MK, we're going to visit the big cheese himself, Hawaiian Mickey at Ohana's character breakfast. This was one of our best meals and our best breakfast. The character interaction was very good and I got to meet my very favorite, Stitch :thumbsup2 The only letdown was they had the character parade after we left the restaurant, but that was our fault.

Our breakfast began with a basket containing a cinnamon roll, biscuit and pineapple bread. All were very good. Our server then brought out a platter of fresh fruit. None of us like honeydew or cantaloupe but the pineapple and watermelon were great. My DS2 had grapes for the first time and ate almost all of them. Our server refilled our orange juice glasses but we had to remind her several times of our missing milks for the boys. DS2 gets very cranky if he doesn't have his milk immediately, but the grapes kept him occupied this time. Our skillet included yummy scrambled eggs, lots of bacon and sausage, roasted potatoes and Mickey waffles. The boys liked looking at the waffles a lot more than eating them but they were fine. I will definitely be repeating this character breakfast in the future!

Since we had such a huge (and late) breakfast, we skipped lunch.

Snacks:

DH and DS7 and DS2 - hot fudge sundae from the Galactic ice cream shoppe -They finished it in record time so it must have been good.

Dinner: Pecos
DH and me: Both had pulled pork sandwiches, fries and baked beans
DS7 and DS2: split order of fries

The pork sandwiches were ok, but the buns didn't taste fresh. I noticed that a lot of the buns tasted hard, like they were sitting out too long. Fries were good and I was able to get cheese sauce for dipping at the fixing bar. The beans were good, but my stomach was a little shaky so I didn't eat much of the beans. The fixing bar was nice but moved so slowly. It seemed like no one knew what condiments to get for their food - I mean it doesn't seem that difficult to me!

We were going to stop at the Main Street bakery on our way out, but they looked like they had closed for the evening and CM's were standing in front of the door so we went on back to our room, still hungry!!

Tomorrow we hit MK again, WCC, DTD and MGM :cool1:
