Cast: Me (30), DH (30), and DD (8 months—she just ate her baby food, but I had to include her!)

We ate a lot...and had very good meals, very few disappointing menu items. DH and I pretty much shared everything (whether we ordered 1 or 2 meals) so we could try more things. Here are our reviews from 4/21-4/28. Meals before Main Street Bakery were not on the Dining Plan, all others were on the Dining Plan.

Earl of Sandwich (dinner): The Original 1762 and Scuddeto (recommended by DISers). Both were so yummy and the bread was SO light and flaky! (A)

Flame Tree BBQ (very early lunch): Smoked beef sandwich, smoked half chicken. Both were very tasty. Chicken was moist, beef was very flavorful. (A)

Tusker House (mid-afternoon pick-me-up): Tusker House Chicken salad, carrot cake. Salad was very good (I am picky about my chicken, but it was good). Carrot cake was also very good—great icing. (A-)

‘Ohana (dinner): Family style, so we had it all! The beef was very juicy (not dry like others have experienced). The turkey was ok. I don’t care for sausage, so it was just ok. Shrimp had a great flavor. We LOVED the potatoes and the bread pudding was awesome. We ate too much and felt sick after this meal…but it was a great way to end our first full day! Oh, the atmosphere was just ok because we were on the back end, behind the fire pit. (A)

Garden Grill (lunch): Great variety and great character interaction. DD met Mickey Mouse for the first time!! Bread w/orange blossom butter was devoured in seconds. Loved the catfish and steak. Pork loin was ok, chutney was tasty. Potato casserole was so addictive! The dessert sampler had a little of everything…lemon bar (just ok), brownie (very good), pecan tart (pretty good), and something else chocolately (I can’t remember what it was, but I know I thought it was excellent!) (A)

Beach Club Marketplace (dinner): Roast Beef and Brie Sandwich, Turkey and Mozarella Sandwich, Gelato (x2). Sandwiches were warmed/toasted, which was a nice touch, and they seemed fresh, but the bread was not as good as Earl of Sandwich. Gelato was awesome! Both of us got a large with 2 flavors, so we shared Chocolate, Raspberry, Vanilla, and Pistacchio. (B+, although sandwiches were B and gelato was A)

Main Street Bakery (breakfast): French toast loaf (x2) and fruit cup. Good fresh fruit. One piece of the French toast loaf was so good, very soft and moist, although very sweet. The other piece was an end and had a lot of dry and crunchy parts, so it wasn’t as good. (B+)

Columbia Harbour House (lunch): Garden Galley Salad, Captain’s Special (chicken and fish strips), Chocolate cake (x2). Salad was a nice combination of flavors, but all of the toppings (cheese, pineapple, dressing, pecans) except the chicken were on the bottom. It was hard to mix until we ate some of the lettuce and chicken to make room for tossing. Chicken strips and fries were standard counter service fare. Although I was excited to try the fish strips after reading a good review, I thought they were pretty tasteless and I kept comparing them to the catfish at Garden Grill. Chocolate cake was pre-packaged, icing was very sweet, cake was good, but not stand-out. (B)

Crystal Palace (dinner): Great variety on the buffet. The prime rib was excellent, esp for a buffet. DH really liked the salmon, I don’t like salmon anywhere. We also really enjoyed spoonbread (so moist!), romaine and bleu cheese salad (tons of bleu cheese), thai curry mussels, fruit/veggie tofu curry, roasted pork, chicken. Great character interaction and probably my favorite location of any restaurant this trip…love being in the Magic Kingdom in the beautiful Crystal Palace. It was loud, but not a problem for us because it was a lively atmosphere and DD got cranky toward the end of the meal and no one even noticed her making noise! (A-)

Flatbread Grill (lunch): Pulled pork sub served with chips, Vanilla Panna Cotta. Sandwich was flavorful, good, but not excellent. Panna Cotta was very nice for a change…light yet very creamy with a few mandarin oranges and shavings of chocolate on top. I’d never had it before, but I highly recommend that dessert….I know it sounds odd, but trust me. (B+)

Alfredo’s (dinner): Apps were fettucini alfredo and mozzarella caprese; entrees Trittico and Tagliolini alla vodkawith shrimp; desserts were chocolate mousse and tiramisu. Fettucini was excellent. Mozarella caprese…the mozzarella was excellent, but the tomatoes were a little mealy, not as juicy as I hoped. Trittico di Pasta…ziti with sauce ok (run of the mill), lasagna was good, and pasta dumplings with truffles/mushrooms were excellent, very rich and flavorful. Tagliolini was excellent…the tomato cream sauce was SO GOOD and can’t go wrong with shrimp. Chocolate mousse was good, but a little too bittersweet. I don’t usually like tiramisu (I think it’s overrated in general), but it was very good. (B+)

Cape May Café (breakfast): Great food and characters. Krispy Kreme doughnuts! Great fresh fruit, Mickey waffles.

Electric Umbrella (lunch): Roast beef sandwich and strawberry cheesecake. Sandwich was weak…very little meat and cheese. Didn’t come with the tomato/lettuce as pictured on the fancy flat screen menus, but it was crowded and we were too tired to go back up to ask for it. The pineapple coleslaw it came with didn’t have a hint of pineapple in it. The cheesecake was pretty good, so it saved this place from getting a C+ rating. (B-)

Le Cellier (dinner): Cheddar cheese soup, tomato stack, filet with mushroom risotto, BBQ filet, Chocolate whiskey cake, and maple crème brulee. Excellent meal and service, very friendly and attentive…a true Disney Cast Member. Soup was very rich and flavorful. Tomato stack was a nice lighter accompaniment to the soup. Tomatoes were very ripe, great mushrooms, spinach, and balsamic reduction. Filets were so tender I cut them with a fork. Our favorite was the filet with mushroom risotto, but both were excellent. Cake was good, but not excellent (I’m not a huge fan of whiskey or mixing orange with chocolate), but the crème brulee was the best dessert all week. I can taste it as I write this review!! (A+)

Concourse Steakhouse (lunch): Apps were Steakhouse Salad and Scallops. Entrees were cheesesteak and burger. Butterfinger cheesecake and carrot cake. Scallops were excellent, salad was ok…the beef was medium well and the lettuce was just ok. Cheesesteak was very good, best I’ve found at Disney (we’re from Philly, and this was the close to the real deal, except for the swiss cheese, but it was still good). Burger was good (but wasn’t fresh, hand-packed as we had heard). Cheesecake was DELICIOUS, but the flavor changes, so it might not be there if you go. Carrot cake was very good. Our server, Tim, was excellent and very friendly. (B)

Boardwalk Bakery (dinner): Ham and gouda sandwich, almond bear claw. Sandwich was good, pastry was very tasty. (B+)

Beach Club Marketplace (breakfast): Yogurt parfait with fresh blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and granola. Egg/cheese croissant sandwich. Yogurt parfait was excellent…you watch them make your parfait b/c you can choose the ingredients. Very fresh! Sandwich was ok. (A-)

Artist’s Palette (lunch): cheese flatbread, shrimp/pineapple specialty flatbread. Cheesecake and apple pie. Both flatbreads had great flavor, but were slightly overcooked, so the crust edges were hard. Desserts were pretty good. (B+)

Wolfgang Puck Express (dinner): Chicken pesto sandwich, chocolate chip cookie. Sandwich had a good flavor. The cookie was huge and very soft. (B+)

Great reviews! Thanks for posting them. I like how varied your choice of restaurants were. I'll bet your DD had a great time.

Excellent review, I enjoyed it immensely. IMO: Best food review I have seen on the Disboard.
I especially liked your comment about loving the catfish: I have loved catfish ever since spending almost 4years in Alabama, unfortunately catfish is not something I can get here on the the Pacific coast. :cool1:
:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for sharing.
