Just got back and thought I would post a quick review of where we ate. We stayed at BLT Saturday 10/17 – Friday 10/23 (then stayed 2 more nights at Vero Beach).

DH (me) – turned 38 during trip, 12th trip
DW – 38, 15th trip
DD – 9, 9th trip

DW and I are both considered pretty "fit" people. But when we go to WDW, we EAT - often past the point of being full. DD on the other hand can stop when she's full and doesn't understand my mom and dad keep eating after we're content. Hopefully she'll keep that though the years.

Breakfasts
Crystal Palace
9:00 MK opening, 8:10 ADR to get in the park early. CMs weren’t checking people off the list – we just said we had an ADR and they let us on through. In past years I remember them actually marking us off a list. So I guess you could have gotten into MK early that day (Main Street) to wander around. Again, food was probably “fair”. Had made to order omelets, which is nice. But there was a decent line for them. Nothing else stood out, other than a feeling that Disney has switched from pork products (bacon and sausage) to turkey or chicken. When I’m on vacation I want fatty pork meats!!!

Sunshine Seasons
EE entry day at Epcot, so after riding Soarin’ we were hungry for some breakfast. DD had a cinnamon roll (her favorite of the trip), DW had a serving of eggs (big serving for $2), and I had a Panini-style egg, cheese, and some kind of pork thing. We all enjoyed our food and said this would be our breakfast stop on future Epcot days.

1900 Park Fare
We eat breakfast here every trip, usually on our last morning (same this time). We normally do the first seating at 8:00, which is fantastic. But we did MNSSHP the night before and slept in a little – 9:30 ADR. We monorailed from the CT to GF and checked in just after 9:30, and were seated within a few minutes. The food is so much better at breakfast than dinner (read below) – kind of hard to mess up breakfast food. The made to order omelets were good, as were the other items. Finally found a couple pieces of crisp bacon here too. We’ll be back next time. It’s still a must do for us.

Lunches
Flametree BBQ
Quick stop for lunch in AK one day a little before noon. DD had a kid’s meal (forget what – maybe chicken nuggets), DW had a chicken salad (salad with chicken, not a chicken salad sandwich), and I had a slab of ribs. Food was decent for a quick lunch. We’ll stop by here again if we’re hungry at AK (used to like Tusker House before it turned to a buffet).

Casey’s
3 hot dogs for the 3 of us. DD eats hers plain and doesn’t like the new non-beef dogs as well. I don’t either – but I cover mine with mustard, ketchup, onions, and relish to mask the taste a little. The new wheat buns fall apart too. Hey Disney – stop being the health police and let me enjoy eating while on vacation. I watch what I eat the other 51 weeks of the year and want to enjoy myself on vacation.

Le Cellier
We prefer lunch here – we’ve had dinner a few times and don’t think the steaks are that great for the high price, plus the wait that you can have at dinner time. Plus, we like the lunch sandwiches. ADR was for 11:00 (I think) at opening, and we were seated right away. We got an extra order of the pretzel breadsticks, since we all liked them. DD had the kid’s steak (which was pretty good sized for a kid’s portion – I think it was sirloin) with fries and cheese soup as her appetizer (which we all breadstick dipped into). I think DW had the prime rib sandwich and fries. I had the cheeseburger and fries. I special ordered the burger without the lettuce and tomato (I don’t like the stuff even touching my food – especially a wet tomato slice) – and they brought out the burger without the cheese. It took a few minutes to get our server’s attention, and she took it back to get the cheese on it. I’m not sure, but I think they might have put blue cheese on the burger instead of cheddar. It didn’t quite taste right. Since I had my birthday button on, our server offered us a free dessert instead of the usual cupcake. I chose the chocolate cake (I’m a chocolate field), which was good. We’ll probably go back for lunch, but it’s not a must do for us.

50s Prime Time
Had an ADR just after 11:00 (opening) and was seated right away. Shared a PB&J milkshake as an appetizer (delicious). DD had the chicken nuggets (the new healthy version) and potatoes, DW had pot roast (good – lots of meat), and I had the meat loaf (good). Our server was good – not an over the top yeller, but very dry/sarcastic humor which I really appreciate. We’ll be back next trip.

Plaza
In all of our trips we had never eaten here – or hardly even noticed it. We had an 11:00 ADR (opening), checked in about 11:15 and were seated right away. DW had the Rueben (liked) and DD and I split the philly cheesesteak. Food was decent, and not too expensive for WDW. The interior reminded us of the The Plaza in DL (which we’ve eaten at a number of times). There were still plenty of open seats through about noon when we left. During lunch here DD was recognized as Jr. Mayor of the day for MK – the Mayor came in during lunch and presented her with a button, sash (which had to be given back), a certificate, and a slip for “immediate access to any ride” – which meant going through the FP at BTMR for DD.

Dinners
Chef Mickey’s
ADR for 5:30, so we were seated quickly (there was a long line for check in when we left about 6:45). I would call the food “fair” – not bad, nothing overly delicious that anyone had 3rds of. We hadn’t been here in a few years, and we mainly go for the characters to kick off the trip with a Disney flair. One thing that was interesting was a new (to us) dessert – it was a chocolate mousse with chocolate circle for earns on an oreo, kind of mimicking the famous oreo bon bon from Cape May (Cape May’s are way better IMO). This was also where we learned Disney has switched to pomegranate lemonade instead of traditional lemonade. We all liked it as something different.

1900 Park Fare
We also eat dinner here every trip. I think we had a 5:00 ADR and were seated quickly (since it was close to opening). We were seated right by the door, which we didn’t care for. This is also the first time we remember a photo thing outside the restaurant in front of a mural – then trying to get you to buy the pictures (similar to what CM’s does). Didn’t care for that sales part of the meal here. The food has been on a steady decline here for us over the years. When we first ate here many years ago, we really liked the food. But it’s been going down for us the past 3 or so years – about the time Cinderella took over. DD is getting to kind of an awkward age with the characters, so we didn’t have much interaction from them. Last year the stepsisters were very entertaining. This year, ehhh. It’s not a $100 meal for the 3 of us any more – DW and I said we would likely skip dinner here next trip.

Cantina de San Angel
DW had the burrito one night we were talking around Epcot. It was big, and she said it was good.

Boulangerie Patisserie
I guess you could call this dinner the same night for DD and I. Since DW had the burrito earlier, we went through for her to get a dessert. I hadn’t eaten yet, so I tried the ham & cheese croissant. WOW – I was not expecting this to be as good as it was. And I think it only cost about $3.50. DD had a bite and decided she wanted one too. So DW went back through line to get another one. Good stuff here. I also had the chocolate cake (cake of the day), DD had a chocolate chip cookie (she loves them warmed up from here), and DW had a pralineige (which she said was okay, but not that great).

Cape May Café
We’ve been eating here every trip for several years now too . ADR for 5:30, but we thought it was for 6:00. So we checked in a little late. No problem though, and we were seated relatively quickly. I know Cape May gets some mixed reviews, especially for it being called a clambake, but this has consistently been the best buffet food we have at WDW for several years now. I don’t eat any seafood, and still have plenty to choose from. Yes, the crab legs were back (DW and DD had some). The chicken was good, the ribs were good, sausage & peppers. Even the pizza was decent (it was a veggie). And of course the desserts are always fantastic. I think I had 4 oreo bon bons. We’ll definitely be back next trip – still a must do for us.

‘Ohana
We’ve been eating here for dinner for a few trips. I was disappointed as many were when the potatoes were taken away. But I still wanted to go for the meat and bread pudding, DD loves their pot stickers, and DW likes about all of the food. Plus, we were going to MNSSHP this night. So eating around the MK was important. Our ADR was at 5:00, and we arrived at the Poly just after 5:00 to find a fairly long line for checking in (opening at 5:00, so there is a lot of people to get in). We were probably seated around 5:20. Overall, all of the food was good. DW even liked the noodles (DD and I didn’t try them). I think DD ate 7 or 8 pot stickers by herself. This was the last night of the WDW portion of the trip, and DW and I were tired of eating so much that we were only able to eat one serving of the bread pudding (we’ve always had a 2nd before).

Snacks
Mickey bars
Choc chip ice cream sandwich from Sleepy Hollow – cookies were VERY hard
Butterfinger cupcake from Starring Rolls – good, would be better if it wasn’t cold (chocolate ganache center wouldn’t be as stiff)
Toffee bar from Germany
F&W – a number of items from the stands (gets expensive with the small serving sizes)
Ice cream cones from main street
Choc chip cookies from France
I know there were more, but I’m not thinking of them right now.

We also did the MK Wishes Dessert party one night. Most of the desserts were okay – not bad, not outstanding. There is quite a variety and we tried about all of them. I was surprised by how many people they take for this. We did the DL Fantasmic Dessert thing a few years ago when it was on the terrace – that was limited to about 12 people. So when we saw the line of a couple hundred people to check in, we were a little surprised. But it didn’t feel too overcrowded once it got going – the natural flow of seating that many people worked well with people going to the buffet and then to their table to eat. They did replace items, but a few items seemed to run out by 8:30 (8:00 seating for 9:00 Wishes). The view was fine for Wishes too – we liked not being crowded in on Main St for the direct/best viewing spot. Overall, we’d probably do it again but not every trip.

Overall Best - Cape May
Overall Least Best - 1900 Park Fare Dinner

Looks like you had some good meals! And you managed to hit all the hard to get ADRs, too. ;)

Logged in at 5:00 am CST at the 90+10 mark BEFORE they extended free dining to this time. So I don't think we had as much challenge with the ADRs. We got everything we wanted at the exact time we wanted.:thumbsup2
