WE stayed at Cypress Pointe May 26th thru 31 on a $79 a night deal from Hotel Kingdom. We were very pleased. We decided to go wiht the "resort" and not the Grande Villas because from what we read the only difference was age of the properties and the bath in the master bathroom. Well, the villa was very clean and in excellent condition and as far as the tub goes, it was big and had jets so don't know what we were missing! We also went with the resort instead of the Grand Villas side because the Volcano pool is on that side and it looked more fun. We had a great location because we could walk to the pool easily, but didn't hear any noise from it. And we were on the first floor which I love cause I don't want to get two tired toddlers up the stairs after a day in the parks.
The kitchen was very well equipped and came with a good starter supply of dishwasher detergent etc--even a one load box of Tide which was very handy. Extra supplies were available int he little shop. ( did buy more Tide--99cents--as I love to come home with clean clothes.) We were provided a restaurant style highchair and a pack and play style crib at no extra charge.
We really enjoyed the pool. EVen when it's crowded, it's big enough that it didn't seem too crazy. My DD, 6 did try out the slides into the water a few times, but they were REALLY fast and she gave up after she wiped out each time. I have to say that the kiddie pool looked pretty icky and I wouldn't let me two little guys play in it. You can bring floating toys into the pool, so they all liked that. We also really enjoyed using the playground over on the grand villas side. Very nice and SHADED!
As far as location, it's hard to beat. Litereally two minutes from the grocery store, several restaurants etc and just a hop skip and a jump to DD. We usually went down to 4 to getto the parks instead of through Downtown Disney as it seemed shorter to us--maybe just cause that is the way we are used to going and so we were comfortable with it.
Anyway, we enjoyed our stay--the only possible complaints were there was quite a bit of peeling paint in the entry area of our villa and I am glad that no one was in the studio with the connecting door to our two bedroom. YOu could see light coming under the door in the day, so to me it didn't seem very private. Oh, and the kids bedroom didn't have any windows which felt weird but wasn't a problem. If you have little ones, you might want to bring a nightlight.
Please feel free to ask any questions. (For comparison, we have stayed at Vistana, Vistana Villages, and Westgate Vacation Villas)
