We just returned from our first trip to Disney. We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo at Caribe Royale (we were in Tower 4, on the second floor).
We booked the condo on one of their Wednesday special deals and received a great rate plus $30/day food credit. (We paid around $1100 for 6 nights).
The resort was easy to find and check-in went smoothly. The lobby was impressive.
We drove over to our tower and entered the condo. It was clean but very dated. The kitchen had a white tile countertop that had seen better days, and there were a few chips in the vinal flooring. The couch was sluggish and appeared to be 8+ years old. Other than that, it was okay. The bedrooms were nice and linens updated. I would definatly say this was not a 4 star hotel. I would give it 3 stars.
The main pool area was great. It was a short stroll from Tower 4 (2 to 3 min.) The kids had a fun time on the slide and enjoyed the waterfall. The food poolside was terrific. The condos also have their own pool. Nothing fancy, but nice. It's closest to Towers 5 & 6.
We went to the breakfast buffet. It was $14 an adult and $8 a kid. The food was good.
We didn't utilize the shuttles. I really thought we would but the pickup times really didn't seem that convenient. It was an easy drive to the parks though. I would say it was about 15 min. parking spot to parking spot. We never encountered any traffic on the roads we had to use.
There are two outlet malls within 10 min. of the hotel (one is less than 5 min.). Again, I enjoyed the location of the hotel.
Would I stay there again? As it is, probably not. It would have to be an amazing deal. If they updated the condos, I would.
