What buffets have you eaten at on Disney property? What are your feelings about them?

I have just embarked into the world of Disney buffets with the exception of Germany in Epcot. Hubby loves a good buffet. So I would love to hear your thoughts.

We have done Cape May for dinner and breakfast and same for Crystal Palace. We have also don 1900 Park Faire. They are all pretty good.

There are also several family style dinners and breakfasts where they bring the food to you. Ohana, Garden Grill, Askerhus Breakfast, Whispering Canyon. Those are yummy too.

I've eaten at the Biergarten buffet in Germany, and it was quite good. It was really authentic and had a nice variety. Don't know if I'd necessarily choose to go back over other places to eat in the World Showcase. I wasn't a huge fan of having to sit with other people.

Boma breakfast buffet- delicious!! We tried it for the first time this past trip and LOVED it. The restaurant itself it really cool in the inside. The juice that they have, I think a mix of several kinds of fruit juices, was really yummy! The nice server even gave me a to-go cup :goodvibes. They had a nice mix of traditional breakfast food (all really good) and a few African-inspired dishes that I tried. Everything was great.. can't wait to go back!

Those are the only ones I can think of right now! I was never a huge buffet fan because I feel like the food gets stale quickly and isn't that good, but I've always had good luck at Disney buffets.

For the most part we have liked the buffets. Of course, we usually do them at breakfast and it can be kind of hard to mess up stuff like sweet rolls, donuts, etc.

However, I will say the variety and quality of the food at the Tusker House breakfast was outstanding. Likewise for the dinner at Crystal Palace. Hot, delicious food.

We were not impressed with the dinner buffet at 1900 Park Fare.

We only did one "buffet" last trip, Crystal Palace and it was great. We are hitting there again for dinner.
We did have the all you can eat at WCC and Ohana, they too were really good, infact we are doing these again as well.

This time we are adding a couple to our list of places to go, Chef Mickeys and Tusker House for Donalds Breakfast, I hope these are as good as the others.

Cape May, The greatest buffet I have had on property. Clambake, steamed clams and muscles steamed right on the buffet. baked fish, fried fish. Crab legs seamed fresh on the buffet. Prime rib carving station, salads(including the best Caesar ever) Ribs, chowder, nuggets, baked chicken.... much, much more
There is something for seafood lovers and non seafood lovers. The deserts are out of this world.

Boma, African fare. something for everyone. My picky wife loved the ribs when they have them. You have to be a little adventurous and wiling to try new things. The Frunch (juice that is out of this world) is great. The deserts are also extraordinary, you must have a zebra dome(you will not be able to just have one) also a snack credit at Mara( Jombo house counter service)

Crystal Palace, My wife won't leave without going at least one time. We have no children but she does love Eeyore. She loves the puffed french toast and potato casserole. There is an omelet station and the normal bacon, sausage, Mickey head waffles. Scrambled eggs, scrambled egg casserole, a great fruit bar with cottage cheese, fresh salmon, bagels....assorted pastries :rotfl::rotfl: yumm

We ate at Biergerten and we are not much into german food so no for us.

I hope this helps. Enjoy your trip:thumbsup2

Playhouse Disney Breakfast at Hollywood & Vine - Excellent breakfast and character experience. My husband still mentions it and wants to go back. Yummy, fresh food. Loved the egg dishes.

Chef Mickey - Dinner - Good food, good character experience. Not my favorite buffet, but good. Selection more limited then at the others and the food was at times only luke-warm. Character experience was good, but very busy. The Service was only acceptable, our server took 45 minutes just to get us our check.

Boma - Dinner - I loved this! Excellent food, lots of diversity while still having fruit and mac 'n cheese for the kids! The salmon is delicious as is the tofu and potatoes with Afritude!

Tusker House - Breakfast - Excellent food, service was good. Very crowded and only good character experience. Love the diversity of food, being able to try new things while still having the old fall backs and excellent, fresh fruit. Very crowded and loud.

My favorite buffet so far is the Playhouse Disney breakfast at H & V!

What buffets have you eaten at on Disney property? What are your feelings about them?

I have just embarked into the world of Disney buffets with the exception of Germany in Epcot. Hubby loves a good buffet. So I would love to hear your thoughts.

one thought since we experienced this on our last trip, try not to make your reservations too late or they might have "limited" or " slow restock" or offerings....

we found this to be true of Hollywood and Vine ( we would never go back there based on our service and quality of food on 7:00 pm reservation )

also Crystal Palace where we had to wait 10 - 15 minutes for re supplies rolls and desserts and missed the characters touring our area...

We have loved Cape May, Biergarten, Boma and Tusker House.

We think Chef Mickey's and Hollywood and Vine are just average.

I had breakfast at 1900 park fare with Alice and friends.. It was wonderful, the food was good an tasty the characters were awesome, esp mad hatter.. I would go back anytime..

I also ate at Boma for dinner. I dont think I need to say much but, It was really good. Great place..

We have done CP, TH, GG (family style) and Biergarten. I have my reviews of the first three on my blog in the restaurant review section of my blog (with some pictures) - link in my signature. Biergarten was 2 years ago and we loved it! We are actually going back in December.

We love the buffets as I have 2 hearty eaters who do not get filled up anymore on the dainty kids meals at some of the TS places. Also there is not the fear that if they do not like something we will have to buy them another meal OOP.

We are trying H&V this time too.

Hope this helps some. :)

Our favorites are Boma and The all you can eat family style at Ohana -
I would have to agree that Hollywood & Vine and chef mickey's was average -
My Kids really enjoyed chef mickey's so overall I would go back .
We usually have breakfast there the day we leave just because it's are last Disney Hoorah -
I have also had breakfast/lunch (as they where switching over) at Trails End that was quite a bit cheaper and was Okay -
Cape May was very good for dinner , especially if you like seafood

You can also check out all the menu's and prices here -

Hope that helps a little -

I have been to Crystal Palace, Ohanna's, Chef Mickey's, and Park Fare. I love the family style of Ohanna's and Chef Mickey's because that was our first one and I love Minne:)

definitely have to try Cape May Clambake. Variety was awesome, excellent service and the buffet was consistently replenished. DS12 and I cant wait to go back (the oreo bon bons are worth it alone!)

Cape May has been hit or miss for us-1st time it was great, 2nd and 3rd times, it was not so good and REALLY crowded.

Boma-tried it for the first time on our last trip. Glad we tried it, but probably won't go back, just not our kind of food.

CM(breakfast) & CP(lunch)-LOVE these, these are 2 of our "can't miss" restaurants.

Nothing wrong with trying them all!

We usually do breakfast buffets however on our upcoming trip we are also doing two dinner buffets.
Our favorite breakfast buffets are Donald's Breakfast @ Tusker House and Boma's both of which we have ADR's for our upcoming trip in February.
The two buffet dinners we are booked for in February is Boma's and 1900 Park Fare. We've done Boma's before and if you are willing to try it is a unique experience. 1900 Park Fare for dinner will be a new one for us as we've only eaten breakfast there before.

We prefer to hit the park at rope drop then schedule a late morning breakfast buffet. It keeps up pretty full for most of the day. We usually only eat a snack or counter service meal in the evening.

I have a child that has a heart condition, so I normally do a lot of buffetts. This is so he can have something more healthy than Mac and Cheese:

Sooo here goes:

CP: Excellant, and a must do for lunch or dinner. Great selection, healthy options, and fresh.
1900 park: Great food, would go again.
Boma: Excellant if you are into that. The food is listed as spicy, but I found most of the offerings to be sweet and VERY good!
Ohana Bkfst: Wonderful
Germany: Fantanstic and very tasty
Norway for dinner: Good food, not a lot of variety for the buffet part. The main course is a table service
Tusker House: Great for breakfast! Good variety although a lot of pastry things.
Chef Mickey for dinner: food...not so great...we only ate the dessert

If I come up with more, I will include it later!!!

Beirgarten - been many times and it is always wonderful, will continue to go back

Fresh at the Dolphin - did breakfast here earlier this month and it was good but I would not go out of my way for it

Cape May Clambake - been here 6 times and it is always fantastic

Cape May breakfast - been here 6 times and it is incredible

Chef Mickeys dinner - terrible food, will not go back

Chef Mickeys breakfast - awesome food, will go back

Princess Norway breakfast - been twice, excellent food and character interaction

1900 Park Faire breakfast - terrible food, terrible service, too loud

1900 Park Faire dinner - terrible food, terrible service, excellent character interaction

H&V dinner - disgusting food, terrible service...will never go back

Crystal Palace breakfast - excellent food, service and characters, prefer to book the 8:05 am reservation for a quieter meal

Crystal Palace dinner - food is ok, serivce is great but can get super loud at dinner time

Boma dinner - dont like the food at all, can get super busy (even at 4:45) and the line for the food is insane

Boma dinner - my favorite in all of WDW, the food is incredible and if you go early the place is nice and quiet

In order of preference (from least favorite to most favorite) in each category:

Breakfast

Chef Mickey's Breakfast - long wait, only ok food, but kids liked the characters
Akershus Princess Breakfast - decent food, a painless way to collect all the princess autographs, spotty service
Tusker House - great if you can get a reservation before the park opens, crowded, food "Boma-like" but not as good (or as much variety) as Boma, pretty good character interaction
Ohana - food not that great, but really good character interaction and not crowded early in the morning
Boma - I love this resort, so I always like to come here. Great food, good variety, crowded
Crystal Palace Breakfast - good food, great service, great to be in the park before everyone else if you get an early ADR, good character interaction even though Eeyore was missing the first time we went.

Dinner

Have only eaten at two....

1900 Park Fare have eaten here a few times and the food has just gotten worse each time. Really good character interaction, but crowded and a long wait for ADR/food line
Boma Have eaten here many times. It's our favorite buffet and one of our favorite restaurants *anywhere*. It *is* crowded, but we have not waited a terribly long time past our ADR....

I've only eaten at Tusker House (lunch) and Trail's End (dinner). Both were very good, but I liked Trail's End a bit more. Seemed easier to navigate the buffet.
