Being late May and early afternoon in Orlando, the weather was scorching and we were in need of a break. As we were making the circuit of the Magic Kingdom, we passed the Aloha Isle stand in Adventureland, and I recommended that we stop and have a drink. Mike readily agreed and we went back to wait in line.
The Cast Member we lined up in front of noticed that the pineapple juice container was low, and looked up and asked us to let people know that we would be the last in line until she refilled the container. The line wasn't very long, so it moved quickly, and we were quickly up to the counter. Pineapple is my favorite fruit, so previously I had ordered a plain pineapple soft serve ($2.59), and it ended up being too much pineapple flavor at once. I asked our server if I could have chocolate and pineapple together, and she responded that it would be no problem! Mike ordered a diet Coke with no ice ($2.29), and she quickly put together both items. She said that she made my ice cream a little bigger because I was nice - I appreciated that!
We paid and turned around to find a seat. Unfortunately the seats directly to the right were in a smoking area, and we didn't notice that until we were settled. We were so tired that we didn't bother to move. As Mike wasn't in much of an ice cream mood, I had it mostly to myself. It was smooth and creamy, especially for a partly nondairy (the pineapple part) product. The pineapple half was sweet and flavorful, and could have overpowered the chocolate half, as I noticed that it didn't have too strong of a chocolate flavor. Even so, I liked this combination better than the plain pineapple flavor. I must not be the only one, because it was rung up as "Pineapple choc combo" on the receipt!
As this was a quick, easily accessable stop in the Magic Kingdom, we will definitely return. Prices were reasonable for the portion that we received, and service was quick and friendly. It's not a sundae from Beaches and Cream or Ghirardelli, but it's much more refreshing, and it's one of my quick favorites around the parks.
