Soooo it's that time! I need to start making PS reservations for our trip! I just think I may have packed it a little full of too many sit down places.... but most of the places listed, I do really want to visit because I've not been to DL in 13+ years, so it's almost like I'm going again for the first time...

So, thoughts?

Monday:
Breakfast: home
Lunch: Travel/Plane
Dinner: Rainforest Cafe

Tuesday:
Breakfast: Carnation Cafe
Lunch: River Bell Terrace
Dinner: Blue Bayou

Wednesday:
Breakfast: Whatever we can find
Lunch: Hard Rock Cafe
Dinner: Saddle Ranch Chop House

Thursday:
Breakfast: Pacifc Wharf
Lunch: Corn Dog Castle!
Dinner: Wine Country Trattoria

Friday:
Breakfast: Storytellers
Lunch: Wherever. Bengal Barbeque or Hungry Bear, maybe.
Dinner: Cafe Orleans

Your plan looks about like mine did when I started it!! Although I do not have plans to eat in DTD, or outside of the park except for maybe a breakfast in our room.

I say definately do Carnation Cafe for breakfast. We are doing Carnation Cafe for breakfast and lunch, just on different days. I have never been for lunch, and I hear their loaded baked potato soup is delish!!! We also have Storytellers for breakfast on one of our days, although I have never been there. I love Riverbelle Terrace for breakfast, but not near my fav place for lunch. It just seems to blah to me. I would do your Bengal BBQ option, or maybe have lunch at Plaza Inn or Red Rocketts Pizza Port, very filling for the money, some of the best deals in the park IMHO.
We too are getting CornDogs, but ours will be from the wagon on Main St. as a few people have told me theres taste better. We were considering Wince Country, then scratched it off our list cause we had to many sit-downs. We also had Cafe Orleans, scratched that off too, but it may becoming back for breakfast. We did Pacific Wharf Cafe for breakfast like 2 years ago, I liked it, just not much selection for what I was hungry for:lmao:
We are also doing Golden Horseshoe because my DH and kids have never seen the show in there. I did when I was a kid, but I remember nothing of the place except eating out of a bread bowl, so we are doing that as well. If you are looking for a quick place to get lunch/dinner one day, I also recommend Stage Door Cafe, right behind Golden Horseshoe. They have great chicken strips and mozzerella strips, and very good hot choclate!!

HTH!!! Seems like we have alot of the same "taste"!!

This might be a silly question, but is there a website that tells which places have PS and the hours of operation? I know there's a website out there with menus....

On Friday, I would have lunch at Bengal bbq rather than the Country Bear restaurant. That place is absolutely horrid. Their chicken sandwich is one of the worst on the menu. Everything on their small menu tastes like the food you get at the zoo (not hot, kind of cool food.) Bengal, on the other hand, is delicious. I would go to River Belle for breakfast. I have been reading great things about it. We have never gone, but we will this time.

Carnation Cafe, of course, has very good breakfast. That was the only PS arrangement I made during our last trip. It was worth it. Oscar even came out and talked to the baby. My husband remembered this little detail, but mine is a little more vague. I didn't know who he was, so I didn't pay that much attention. Very nice.

Just bumping this one more time. I've been such a slacker, I haven't actually made any reservations yet. Think I'll be okay? The trip is just a month away.

Yummy, yummy!

We didn't have any trouble making our PSs last week for a trip 5 weeks away. But I wouldn't put it off any longer if you can help it. It will certainly be easier to get your preferred time, the earlier you call.

I couldn't help but noticee your weight loss ticker and laugh. That may slide backwards a little on this trip, huh? Actually we went to WDW with the dining plan last year and ate and ate, but I didn't gain any weight with all the walking!

Have fun!

Hahaha, I hope i don't slide too much further backwards on the trip! But I wouldnt be surprised if that happens =D Oh well! Gotta indulge!!

i think you may want to be carefull about eatting big breakfests if you have nice lunch planed.

today i just relized i had to many lunchs to close to huge breakfests..lol but its ok now

we also decied to do storytellers and yet to make resvations yet i will soon tho lol.

I just made our PS's a couple days ago with no problems, and our trip is in 5 weeks. The only time I couldn't get exactly what I wanted, was Napa Rose, and it was just 5:30 instead of my requested 6 p.m.

I haven't planned the counter service places; just the PSs. We're mostly going to eat breakfast in the room.

Last time we were there, we found that, along with breakfast in the room, one sit down meal was enough to keep us happy every day with snacks and fruit to supplement. We weren't that hungry, and when we were, we felt like eating healthy. Go figure.

Here's my tentative plans:
Sunday: (arrive in parks approx 3 p.m.) dinner at Cafe Orleans

Monday: Ralph Brennan's, dinner 6 p.m.

Tuesday: Minnie & Friends, 10:30 a.m. late breakfast/brunch at the Plaza

Wednesday: Napa Rose, dinner at the chef's counter, 5:30 p.m.

Thursday: Blue Bayou, lunch 11:30

Leave parks approx 3 p.m.

Why, do you ask, am I taking a 13-year old girl to dinner at the chef's counter at Napa Rose? Well, she was so sick the last time we were there, she barely enjoyed anything we ate. DH and I were supposed to go to Napa Rose alone on our last night while the kids stayed upstairs and had pizza (DD13 is our very responsible babysitter); but she was feeling so awful that we canceled and all had room service instead. So I asked her if she thought she would enjoy eating at a really nice restaurant, and she was thrilled! It will be a very grown-up experience for her (and she is growing up so fast!); she is a mature, beautifully behaved, smart girl that I will be proud to show off in a nice place. She thinks it will be great to sit at the counter, and watch the chefs do their work, just like the professional chefs she enjoys watching on TV ("It'll be like being the special guests at the counter on Emeril, Mom!" ) So we're really looking forward to it!

BTW: menus are at allears: http://www.allears.net/dlr/din/dining.htm

In DL, PS's are at Blue Bayou, Carnation Cafe and Cafe Orleans. (and at Minnie's character breakfast at the Plaza)

CA, PS's are at Wine Country Trattoria, The Vineyard Room, and Ariel's Grotto character breakfast.

PS's for other character meals are Goofy's at DLH, Lilo and STitch at PP. Of course, all the DTD restaurants are also on the PS system, except for Rainforest Cafe; they have their own reservations.

That is very detailed to the minute!! I am assuming that is from RIDEMAX? You guys are going to have so much fun doing DL and a cruise. My 2 favorite vacations!!

I dont recall seeing any lunch/snack places in your itinerary. Are you just gonna wing those and go with the flow? Or undecided? I do want to recommend since I see you will be in TL one day around lunch time Red Rockets Pizza Port. Very good and very filling for the price. Salads, pastas and pizzas. My kids love this restuarant.

Yes, I figured we would do coffee and pick up some snacks for breakfast and snacks.. so a brunch each day and a earlier dinner should hold us over along with snacks...

Thanks for the tip, will definatly try out the pizza place

I figured CA on Saturday since it's supposed to be a very hot day and I know my crew won't wake up before 8am to do early entry on that day but can make the early entry on Sunday!!

I've really enjoyed reading all the trip reports, so much FUN!! What a Great way to prepare and get excited for the trip...

Hi Rainforest Elf. I will be there at the same time as you!

Try allears.net for menus.

So will we and we picked two of the same restaurants at the same time! I made our PS ressies on Friday and had no problems.

I won't say which two are the same but if you see someone wrestling a two year old in Mickey ears back into his highchair while trying to smile and act like everyone is having a great time...it's probably me
