I had a difficult time finding recent reviews of this experience, so I thought I would add one in case it might be helpful to someone next year. :)

The event is held in World ShowPlace, between Canada and the UK. General admission to PftS begins at 7 PM, but WVL & Reserved Seating are allowed in at 6:45 PM. Those 15 minutes give you a chance to find your table, get your bearings & plan what you'd like to try. When we arrived, we were given a credential on a lanyard, handed a glass of champagne & escorted to our table, which was set with special guides designed for the WVL. I did take an extra book so as not to rip up the nice one they gave us when scanning - I will add the scans to this thread in the coming days. There was also an etched WVL wine glass, which was washed out for us to take home later. We then met our server for the evening. One of the benefits of the WVL is your server, who will bring you special treats, clear away your plates, bring new silverware, and refill your water as needed. They will also bring you anything you'd like from the bar if you are too busy (or impaired :drinking1) to get it yourself. Waiting for us at the table was wagyu beef & an edible stone, along with a mini mango margarita. The beef was covered in charcoal and a chef came by to light it on fire. The beef was delicious. The stone was not. I suspect mine may have been an inedible stone that was picked up outside the venue by mistake. It was a cool thing to see and try all the same. You can also see the lobster mac & cheese hiding in the upper left of the photo. I may or may not have snagged that before we even sat down & I may or may not have snagged another one later in the evening.

My iPhone does not take good photos in low light so I gave up on getting a shot of the room fairly quickly. I suppose I could have blinded everyone sitting around me to have better access to the wine & cheese... :scratchin Cheese! The WVL had its own private cheese selection. There were 5-6 choices along with various baked goods & fruits to accompany them. I imagine this won't be particularly exciting to many other people, but anything that involves bonus cheese is cause for celebration for me - and they were all delicious.

In addition to the cheese, there was a private open bar for the WVL, stocked with just about anything you could imagine. There was also plenty of wine available around the room. I was impressed with the selection.

Once we had done some sizable damage at the cheese table, we made our way out past the "bouncers" to explore the other stations. The "bouncers" are friendly CMs stationed at both entrances to the WVL to ensure that only those with credentials are allowed access. I didn't notice any issues with other people trying to enter, but then again, I wasn't watching. The WVL is located directly in front of the stage & there are no food stations beside it, so I can't imagine anyone with no reason to be there would have tried to wander in anyway. Tables for Reserved Seating were located towards the back of the room & I did notice a nice number of high tables for General Admission folks to use.

Cirque du Soleil began performing after a time & we really enjoyed it. There was contortion, juggling, hula hooping (cooler than it sounds), Cyr wheel (also known as "that thing where the guy gets in the hoop & spins around!" for those of us who aren't experts at acrobatic lingo), and two others I definitely appreciated at the time but cannot recall now, likely because I was on my third blood orange margarita. I will edit them in if they come back to me. Having a close seat to watch the performances was absolutely wonderful. There were also large screens around the venue so that nobody had to squint or miss out. Other entertainment included a DJ and a band that played "updated" versions of classic songs. Both of those were fun as well. I will even forgive the band for making me sing 867-5309 in public.

Clockwise from upper left: credential & guide, black rice pudding with mango gelato, crispy pork belly with whole grain mustard, cronut with raspberry & custard filling, seared scallop with polenta, chocolates, beef tongue tacos

There was FAR more than this, but that's what made it to Instagram, and these days, if a food doesn't make to Instagram, was it ever really eaten at all? :scratchin

At the end of the night, our server came around with shiny black gift bags with the WVL logo. Inside we found two muffins (odd, but we ate them for breakfast the next morning & they were quite good), an apron from Adventures by Disney (along with an advertisement for one of their F&W cruises), Twinings tea, Joffrey's coffee, and some Ghirardelli chocolates.

In summary, the differences between WVL & Reserved Seating are:
  • table in reserved area, close to stage
  • private table just for your party (no sharing a larger table as with Reserved Seating)
  • CMs at the entrance to ensure nobody tries to "borrow" your table
  • server to refresh your silverware, clear your plates, bring you treats
  • private open bar with drinks & wines not found outside WVL
  • bonus cheese selection not found outside WVL
  • gift bag, etched wine glass, credential & lanyard, custom guide
  • reserved seating for Eat to the Beat (we didn't use this)
Benefits that WVL & Reserved Seating share:
  • reserved seat (no need to hunt for one or stand at a high table)
  • 15 minute early entry
This year, prices per person were $329 WVL, $199 RS, $169 GA. For those wondering about dress, our theme was Yelloween Masquerade (black and yellow). I wore a black cocktail dress & yellow necklace and felt comfortable in that. Most people were in the business casual range.

Thanks for the comparison between the WVL and Reserved Seating. I've done PftS three times now, with Reserved Seating each time and my party (of three) has never had to share a table with any other group. We also had servers that cleared plates, but they didn't bring new silverware or refill water.

Thanks for the notes! I've never done Reserved Seating. Coming back on the Monorail, we met a couple who said they didn't realize they'd have to share their reserved table. I wonder now if they were actually GA & just confused, or if someone gaslighted them & got a seat they didn't pay for. :lmao:

Loved your review! I've gone to F&W a number of times but have never done any of the extras. Thinking of maybe splurging next year. But one question I've always had is how solos are treated.

There was a solo lady a few tables away. She was all dressed up with a black & yellow fascinator and seemed to be having a great time.
