I was wanting to make some shirts before our trip on Sunday and thought it would be fun to do tie dye shirts with Mickey's head on it from this post. I did not want to invest much money and did not want to go to the craft store to get supplies. I have tie dyed some old shirts with bleach before when I get a stain on them and knew this could work. I did a trial run with this old shirt I was going to give away and it turned out good so I found some cheap 100% cotton shirts for $3-4 at Wal-mart.

This was my first tank. I soaked it in the 50/50 bleach for around 15 minutes.

For the next 2 shirts I put them on a wire rack used a 50/50 bleach and poured it on and let it drip. I left the bleach for around 15 minutes.
My shirt, I should of left it longer with the bleach.

We are going for our Disneymoon Sunday and going to surprise him with it. I know he will only wear it once only because we will be in Disney and it would make me happy.

How cool! Im alergic to bleach otherwise I would SO try this. did you use bottle bleach of the new bleach pens?

I filled a water bottle with 50% water and 50% bleach and poured it on the shirts.
I would of used the bleach pen after if the outline did not show up.

You have to be very careful with the bleach, in the past I have left the shirt in to long and had my shirt disintegrate on me.

I absolutely love these! May I ask a couple of questions??

1. How did you make the Mickey Head?? I assume you put the Mickey Head onto the shirt before you poured the bleach.

2. When you hung them on a wire rack-- I'm having a hard time visualizing this. How did this make the larger splatter effect? Were they on hangers or on the rack itself??

I hope you had a fantastic Disneymoon!! :lovestruc
