revenge of the mummy -hated it!

compare it space mountain and RR coaster..both inside, bith dark and it only goes backwards for a few seconds-still made me sick:sick:

I love Expedition Everest....(feel it is a smooth ride)...and Space Mountain...if I sit in the front....I don't like Rockin Roller Coaster...but, will ride it if I have to (with somebody else who wants to ride it)....Believe it or not...I am finding Thunder Mountain to be a bit Jerky for my taste....:)

Can The Mummy Ride be compared to any of these? I know that there is a time when it goes backwards...(just as EE)....but, I think I can fight the nasuea because ( on EE) when it goes backwards, it goes up...and it's very cool inside.
:rotfl: Otherwise, I never could tolerate the "backwards only" roller coasters...:sad2: Would the 'backwards" part length of time be compared to EE?

I think it's most similar to EE - the speed, turns, and going backwards all like EE. It's all indoors though.

OH NO. I personally hated Rockin Roll RR although LUVED the take off, that was a blast, just hated all the dark upside down turns. We're leaving in 8 days, I was going to try ROTM for my DH who is psyched BUT not so sure now. For someone who loves the speed of RNRRR maybe I can handle this?? :sad2:  :guilty:

I consider myself a "coaster chicken" but I love ROTM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you can handle RNR, you can handle ROTM easily! Yes, it goes backwards, but for literally like, 4 seconds. It goes up to 40 mph. Jerky? At two points (scarb room and fake ending). Upside down? Not at all. Tips? Right side is better than left. Want airtime? Try to get in the back row. Scary? Not really. Dark? Yes. Fun? DEFINATELY! Rode 7 times in 5 days (2x in a row once).

The backwards part on ROTM is nothing compared to Expedition Everest's backward section, which in my opinion is the most intense part on either of these two coasters. The backwards part on Mummy is like 3 seconds with a 5 foot drop, after that it has a mild launch compared to Incredible Hulk's launch.

:confused3 funny how different rides effect different people?

I have no issue on EE, have rode multiple succesive times. Of course, i know when it's coming so I can brace myself. It's more of a fun/campy ride as opposed to scary old mummy.:scared:

Yet, that slow, 1st lift up the hill can be a bit disconcerning to those of us who aren't fond of heights (heck of a view, you can see for miles:thumbsup2 )

The backwards section of Everest makes me sick every single time. I don't know how anyone can take that twisting updwards motion. Mummy's backwards section is a simple drop. Lasts three seconds.

I am a roller coaster chicken as well. I can handle Big Thunder and tolerate Space Mountain for the kid's sake. Both are very jerky to me. I love Spiderman and the Flying Unicorn. They are both more my speed. Soooooo, according to this thread I may like the mummy? Someone convince me :) I don't like big drops but I don't mind going fast in circles. I love test track. Does the Mummy have a big drop? Someone mentioned feeling airborne. Not so sure about that

ROTM has a launch system that provies airtime at the beginning of the ride and several times during. There is a drop towards the end but it's not that bad at all...IMHO. I don't know what else to tell you...just try it and see. Most coasters have airtime...some more than others...but ROTM is not a bad coaster.

I am a HUGE coaster chicken. If you see my 1st tag, that was due to a very early tag fairy (Webmaster Barry I believe) in regards to me losing a bet to my son. If he won, I would have to ride one of the coasters. I chose Hulk. That was the first and last time I ever rode one of the big 3.

I LOVE Mummy! It is one of my favorite rides. I think I like it because you can't see where you are going, so I have no opportunity to anticipate what is coming. I am even to the point where I can ride with my arms up (something I still don't do on the kiddie Unicorn) and goof around with my kids at the picture point. The air time is not too bad and I have found that now that I am used to it, I lfind it fun.

Try it. It is a great coaster for us coaster chickens!

I liked it but thought it was just not long enough... it was over so fast.

I don't hate The Mummy, but I really think it's overrated. Probably because I compare it to Expedition Everest or Indiana Jones Ride @ Disneyland California. It's just not at the same level, in my opinion.
