Okay, we are here at Universal and my son is trying to convince me to ride this ride. I asked here about Spiderman and you guys were very honest with me. I rode that and other than feeling a little dizzy after the second ride, I was fine with it. Now, how about Revenge of the Mummy? My son claims the only drops are very small ones. The description I read online side there was a 39 foot drop, which is about the same as Splash Mountain. I CAN'T do that kind of drop. I CAN do Space Mountain, BTMRR, Dinosaur, and POTC. How does this compare to those drop-wise? I have no problem with jerking, bumping, speed or the weird effects. It is strictly a drop problem. I had brain surgery in 2003, and bigger drops just really make me dizzy and light headed.

wel, since you had brain surgery in the past, i would avoid ROTM.
It was over in like litteraly 60 secs ( after the que line and slow part ) ., but those are some really intense turns and whatnot....

it stops and then goes fast, then slows and goes backwards ugh

I might have to disagree. I am a big ride chicken. I don't even like space mountain or splash mountain. The Mummy, however, I love. It's my favorite of all! I too get dizzy on rides, but not the Mummy. Its fast and dark. There aren't any really big drops. If you can do Space, you can probably do Mummy, particularly if the jerks and bumps don't bother you. It does stop abruptly and go backwards very quickly at one point.

I would hate to shy anyone from such a great ride.ROTM is the best darkride out there but I wouldnt take the chance. Some parts are intense tho they dont last long.

The biggest drop in ROTM is 26 feet. Splash Mountain is 50'. I'd say the biggest drop in ROTM is only slightly larger than Space Mtn.

We really enjoyed ROTM when we went in March. It was the first time I'd done it. It's fun and full of neat effects. It's really unique and like no other ride I've enter ridden. For me, one of the surprises was not so much the drops as the abrupt stops (there are a couple of them), so you might want to consider that if you think it may cause any problems with your medical history. If you decide to ride, have a blast!

The drops are mostly effect and aren't nearly as bad as they seem. That said, you might want to think twice about this one. It's over with quickly but why chance it?

I personally adore this ride, it's my favorite of any ride anywhere.

Well, I did ride it this morning and it wasn't bad at all. I would definitely say it is similar to SPace Mountain, but with less drops and more fire, LOL. I rode it twice. Wouldn't say it's my favorite ride, but it was a good one.

Congrats!!!!:thumbsup2

The Mummy should make every Disney Imagineer blush with embarrassment. (and I am a die hard Disney fan).

IMHO- single best themed ride in Orlando, and most people should be able to ride it (as opposed to something like the hulk, which just makes me want to pee my pants looking at it) The coaster portion is excellent, but the real thrill is the attention to detail, storyline, variation of components to this ride (fast, slow, stopped, ect), even the themed Q, its outstanding. Enjoy!

Hooray! I'm glad you gave it a chance. It's a great ride.

If you are concerned then ( especially with surgery) than there must be a reason.
I rode it in June for and I was a bit apprehensive. I hate going back wards( Like Everest in Animal Kingdom) but this back wards was short and level.
The ride is smooth overall... and I LOVED IT.. rode it back to back once even.

The largest drop is more than Space Mountain feels.. I know that..
With Space Mountain being down In Disney right now... ROTM ride was a great substitute for a chicken like me. It is fast for sure... Do you have a problem even if it's a dark ride?? Mummy is very dark for most of it.
Spider man got me with the spinning slightly.

OOPS... I JUST SAW YOU RODE IT TODAY ALREADY..
