Revamped Port Nassau, worth a visit?

I think everyone that's been to Nassau has their opinions one way or the other. I don't think this will sway anyone. If you like Nassau this will be a positive addition. If you don't like Nassau, this probably wont convince you to leave the ship.

DW and I have not gotten off the ship in forever but our next visit *very soon* we most definitely will.

I was just there a few months ago (work was still being done) and WOW it looks so much nicer now.

I believe the Grand Reopening Celebration is supposed to be Friday....

Even with the changes, I doubt we would even get off the ship there. We've been to Nassau too many times and hated to battle our way through the throngs of vendors trying to sell us something. We've been to Atlantis and that was a one and done for us. We prefer to just stay on the ship and enjoy a relaxed day.

We have never been but will be going in December. It's a short cruise, 4 day, so not sure I want to waste time getting off the ship. Might get off just for the port area, then again we might not.

Yes the final official grand reopening is coming up. We were just there and most of the construction was already done. Its been a long process. We didn't go into the market area, not a fan, but I did heard they revamped the area as well.

We are getting off when we go in September and then we are debating for our November trip, just depends on what my kids want to do.

I disagree with this. I think a lot of stay on the ship people will at least want to take a walk and see what vendors are in the new port, even if they don't go into town. I doubt it will completely revitalize the city, but it will get a good number of people out.

In a way, Nassau allows Disney (and other lines) to have CCay and Eluthra . . . which allows them to deal with Jones Act.

Been to Nassau a bunch of times. Mostly stay on the ship, but this looks nice. I might stretch the legs and take a walk around this area. Good for them!
