Reusing autograph books

I'm debating the merits of reusing my daughter's autograph book for our trip in February. Having a hard time thinking of ideas for my 2yo twins for Christmas so I thought about maybe getting them their autograph books & Mickey ears from Santa instead of Mickey when we arrive at the park. DD1 has an autograph book from our trip when she was 2. Maybe a quarter of it is used.

Should I get her something new or should I reuse the old one? She'll like a new one simply because her sisters are getting new ones so why shouldn't she? But I think it would be kind of cute to flip through the years and see how she's aged.

Is it the one bought at Disney? You could do pillowcases for all 3. Etsy has some really cute ones and then you could do fabric markers and they could keep them!

Yep, it's a Disney one. I like having the autograph and then the spot to stick a picture next to it. :)

Just not sure whether people usually get their kids new ones for each trip or reuse the old one of there's space?

I reused ours. There was plenty of room in it. In the year between trips, kids did not really refer to it or use it at all. I think mine enjoy the experience of getting the autographs, but the autographs themselves aren't as important at to them. All kids are different, YMMV.

Our girls have used the same ones over the past 6 trips. And I assure you they will be using them for the 7th. :goodvibes

We reuse. Heck we have been using DH's from when he was a kid for the last 5 or 6 trips. All the characters think it's super cool!

I'm in the reuse camp. One is likely to get completed in December and I will continue to add to the second one.

We have also reused, more than once. If we didn't, I'd have had to buy like 8 autograph books so far lol...................

I don't personally like the re-use mine. However I'm slightly OCD (and it was bad when I was a kid) so to me then re-using autograph books was like sacrilegious.

I like the suggestion of having the character autograph pillowcases. It's a nice keepsake.

I never would have thought to reuse an autograph book, but maybe it is because we get too many autographs each time??? For those who reuse them, do you have the same characters sign on the same page again, or is there that much room left in them to have charaters sign again? This year when we went, we used the Disney Jr. Encyclopedia of Animated Characters, but I know the time before each of my kids filled 3 entire autograph (the books that Disney sells that have the spot next to the page for the pictures).

We have them sign on a new page. We have Mickey's autograph 5 or 6 times in one book.

If you don't mind me asking, what do you use for autographs that is big enough to have autographs from that many trips? From our last trip we have autographs from over 50 unique characters (no repeats), and I would like to find a better way of collecting autographs for our next trip. Also, do you use the type that also has the slot for pictures or just something with plain pages?

Last trip I got on line and found templates for characters and placed two per 8x11.5 page for characters to sign on. I printed them on glossy cardstock and 3 hole punched them. Each older child had there own binder. It worked OK although it did take time to find the character's pictures b/c they were not in alphabetical order. Now they are just sitting in the closet:rolleyes2. This trip I purchased the older 2 kids a Disney Jr. Encyclopedia of Animated Characters book for Autographs. I also picked up a two of "autographable" picture mats. We will use one at MK and one for all of the other parks (I think). Last year I think one the neatest things I saw was someone getting a zip up sweatshirt signed. It had the year on it and I think it would be an awesome keepsake!

I made my sons book last year and plan on using it next year. It still has plenty of space left but I could also just add more pages if its running low. My plan was to keep filling it until we have all the characters I spent a lot of time on it so I figure why not

Just a standard book. We get only 10-15 autographs a trip. Just plain pages and we have them sign every page. This trip they were signing on the backs of pages too.
