Reuse refillable beer mug?

Can we bring back our refillable mugs for our second cruise?

Sure. Although I don't bring back the mug. On the last day I exchange it for the paper token, and just bring that back the next time. Much lighter to pack

The mug is not a paper cup, it's heavy. So to save you from lugging it around when not in use you can turn it in to any bartender in exchange for a token (was actually a card), so when you were ready for another you just give the card to the bartender and you get a new mug full of the beer of your choice.

We are the crazy ones that bring them home after each trip.... yes they add like 10 lbs to our luggage
But I never know for sure if we are going back on another Disney cruise... (even though deep inside I know we are...)

Now that I have two DCL beer mugs at home, one I purchased and one gifted to me by our DD, I always just bring mug card. This is much more convenient. Of course I had to purchase a second mug myself to get the card.

I wonder what would happen though if DCL changes the beer mug design between the last cruise and the next one?
Do you think they would honour the paper token you took home? Just wondering because next time we go we may just leave our mugs and take the token.

I would hope DCL would honour the tokens... kinda surprising they haven't changed the look of these mugs in 4-5 years though!
