Reuse Magic Band for off site stay?

I have a few Magic Bands from a couple of on-site stays recently. If we decide to stay off site for our next trip, can we just link our tickets and FPs to the bands we already have at home saving us from having to buy new MB?

Just to be clear, you are not linking ANYTHING to the bands. You are linking your tickets to your MDE accounts, then reserving FP+ for the number of days for which you have park admission.

The MBs are a link to that information in MDE. They have nothing "loaded" on them. As long as they are active MBs in your account, they can be used for park admission and FP+ access.

The only difference between a magic band being used for on site vs off site is that for on site you use it to open your hotel door and can charge items in the parks to the band (because it charges to the hotel room, not the band itself). That's the only two differences when using them. So you can use any bands linked within your MDE. So if you stay on site in the future, you can still use any bands you have from previous trips.

As long as you have your park tickets linked to your MDX account, you can use any active MB assigned to you for park entry and to redeem fastpasses. You won't be able to use it to access your hotel room or for in-park charging.
