Do the stores on the island, especially ABC stores give you bags with purchase? Or do you need to bring your own reusable?
I'm particularly wondering about Island Country Market since I will be walking and don't want to be carrying groceries in my hands lol

On our most recent trip we bought reuseable bags at Target and ABC when checking out at the cashier. Times Market gave us paper bags (can't remember if there was an upcharge or not).

No, the big stores do not supply the thin plastic bags. I like the re-usable plastic bags at WalMart that are strong and holds a lot, and only about $0.10, and folds down to hardly take any room to fit in a pocket. Most re-usable bags are bulkly and don't fold down small enough, Foodland will give you paper bags if you ask for it. Don't remember too much about ABC and Island Country Market, as I always have my own bag.

Great3

Safeway also gives free paper bags IIRC, but also has reusable plastic ones for purchase. The register I was using ran out of paper so I had to buy one plastic—or carry my gallon of POG juice in my hand LOL

Gallon of POG juice is the best $7 I spent last trip!! 😋

LOL, I agree!! We were told we have to try POG the first time my family ever visited Hawaii, and it‘s been part of our island experience each time we visit now.
