Returning TRU.com purchase to TRU store?

I need to return an item purchased from the TRU website ~ I called my local store and they said that *yes I can but I'll receive store credit instead of cash back* ~ why??

Yup, That's been their policy for at least a year now. I had to return a video game last year that ds got 2. Since I had purchased one of them online, I decided to return that one. It was fine since, ds got to use the merchandise credit to get another game.

I suppose that's OK ~ I'd rather have the cash, hmmm perhaps whatever I purchase with the gift card could be returned for cash, but maybe they'd put it back on a gift card.

My experience recently was that since I purchased with a credit card they put the refund amount back on my credit card.

Was this an online purchase returned to a store? If so great!

I called today because I need to return a four pack of zhu zhus and they will just give me store credit.... I guess i goulc purchas diapers or something i need but I want the money back on my credit card!

Then you would need to return it via mail back to the return center.

Their website is pretty clear about giving only store credit for on-line purchases being returned at the store. While others may have been able to get actual refunds to their credit cards, I'd say that's more the exception than the rule.
