My DH and my mom both gave me a copy of the same book for Christmas. DH bought it from Amazon. I don't know exactly where my mom bought it, but I'm thinking either Amazon or Barnes & Noble. It would be easier to return one to B&N rather than dealing with a return by mail.
Does anyone know if Barnes and Noble will take it without a receipt and if there's a possibility it wasn't even purchased there? It's a common enough book and I know they carry it. I wouldn't mind getting a store credit instead of a refund. I just don't need two copies of the book. Thanks!

I plan on doing this with another item this Christmas because the item was purchased from a store that is not in my area (out of state chain). I might not get the same value that was paid for the item, but I get something out of it.
. This is not the article, but it does contain the return policies for anyone who may need it
