We were at the last show of the day on Wednesday (5:40) for the new MGM Lights Motor Action Show and immediately at the start of the show there was a crash between two cars. At first we thought it was part of the show but then realized the driver was hurt. The show ended immediately and they put up a tent and brought in an ambulance. Has anyone heard how the driver is? He never did get out of the car and they brought in a stretcher. We really hope the driver came through okay....

That is terrible! I was just thinking a few days ago about how dangerous the stunt show must be for the performers and I was worrying about crashes, etc.. I wonder if they will close the show for a period of time now to regroup and reassess safety. I hope the driver is ok, prayers and pixie dust go out to him/her and their family.

OMG! I hope the driver is ok. Sending prayer & pixie dust to the driver.

The driver will be in my thoughts and prayers. Looking forward to see if he/she is okay. I think he/she will be considering those aren't the same cars that we drive, they are equipted with a lot more safety devices and are probably much stronger considering what the cars have to do. If I were to guess, he/she is fine. Nevertheless, I will still hope for the best.

" LMA Accident confusion
I have heard millions of stories across the resort, through friends, guests at the parks and online. No one was killed or seriously injured but here is the official story as to what happened the other day in case you want to know. (So everyone else, shut up about what you were told)

During the opening Ballet scene one of the pursuit cars (The black ones) clipped the side of a building at 50ish MPH. This caused the car to spin out and collide with the Hero car (The red one). The hero car was wedged under a "bridge" (Set peice on stage, not the bridge on the far side of the stage). Reedy Creek was called in and the driver was cut from the car. He is doing fine and is already back driving "on lite" (Meaning no real stunts for at least two weeks). He had an existing problem with his back (from working at LMA in Paris) which was aggrivated but it is doing better. The only injury he suffered is a broken thumb.

LMA going dark for the month of april and the accident are purely coincidence. This has been planned for months on end. During April, the crew will be going through a series of "What if..." senarios. These are ranging from the possibility of one of the hero cars not being available, they have to skip a scene, an element of the show isn't avialable, the show has to be ended due to an accident (Yes, these guys to pratice everyday. But doing these stunts at 40-50 MPH in the close quarters that they do these in, it is a very real threat)."
