Just caught a Youtuber video from the Wonder yesterday where they were showing the SailAway Party! I'm not sure if there was a full show or not as they cut away from it one-party, but it looks like it's back in some form or another!!

Any chance this bodes well for upcoming cruises now that more children are eligible for vaccinations?

Cheers! We're the next sailing on this ship, so I'll report back! I'm guessing it's due to the 100% Vax though, so if it happens it will be a pleasant surprise

I would be surprised if it returned to other cruises soon, but it does at least bode well that they're doing one at all and it hasn't been permanently cut from their desired list of offerings.

*fingers crossed that the Panama Canal folks get real Palo brunch*

I would think that the sail away party, after being gone for a year and a half, would require some work to rehearse and get back up and running again with the current cast members (who may not have worked on the Magic/Wonder before). Do you think they would do all that work if they only planned to do it once?

They have deck parties on the other ships, so I doubt vaccination will make a difference.

I sure hope this returns ASAP. It's silly to me that they have no had it with reduced capacity. The capacity on the pool deck is not limited during the rest of the cruise.

We are very covid cautious and have cruised twice and have definitely missed the sailaway party and deck parties. If nothing else, I feel they should at least have some music on deck for the embarkation afternoon.

I think if they wanted to avoid large groups of people gathering for a SailAway party, instead of a central party/show, they should have CM's scattered around the deck, pipe in the music, and have little mini group parties instead.

Same! See you onboard! ;)

Would either of you be willing to post your experience with boarding in Galveston? :goodvibes :goodvibes We are on the December 3rd sailing and I'd love to have some insight as to how the Covid testing is working there. :teeth:

Sure thing. I usually post a trip report in that particular forum, so keep your eyes peeled there. :)
