Return item at gift shop?

Anyone know if the gift shop at AKL accept returns? I have an item that I bought and it's too big. It still has tags on it. Was bought about a year and a half ago. Will they give me credit for returning it?

My guess is they will work with you. I returned an item to the gift shop next to the Boardwalk Inn with no issues.

All of the resort gift shops can do returns (that's what disney says, and I've experienced the same).

It would be better if you have your receipt. Not sure how they view items without a receipt.

You can return your pretty much any item anywhere on property. If you have your receipt it should be quick and easy. Several times I have purchased items in the parks and returned them at Boardwalk shops.

Your best bet would be to call merchandising, I believe there is a number here on the boards or if you look at your reciept I believe they have a phone number on them.

Can you return items from 18 months ago at the parks? You should be ok, unless the item was put on sale/discontinued? (in which case you may get the sale price)

Interesting question. Found this:

Disney has instituted a new merchandise return policy at all of the Disney owned stores at their Parks and Resorts. Returns and exchanges must now be made within 30 days, and purchases prior to May 2 will be honored under the current policy. If any returns are made without a receipt, guests will be issued a Merchandise credit. This credit cannot be used with discounts such as Annual Passholder, DVC, or Cast Member discounts.

Sounds like it would be processed as a return with no receipt and a merchandise credit would be issued.
