I'm hosting my annual winter scrapbook retreat at the end of February (36 ladies). Has anyone played a fun game at a crop or retreat that you would be willing to share with me? I've done about 10 retreats and I'm trying to find something we haven't done already! Thanks!

I do a Cape Cod crop every spring and I have to say my ladies just want to chit chat, look at each other's albums, and scrap. Occasionally a trip to Trader Joe's, Christmas Tree Shop, and the local craft store is made, but that is about it.

In the past I've done crazy lady pajama contest and a yankee swap.

Yes, for the most part that is what we do but I usually like to offer one or two activities or games during the weekend for those that DO like them.

What is a Yankee swap? I've never heard of that.

I had a product gift for each attendee. All were wrapped so no one knew what the item was. Each person drew a number. Person # 1 could pick any item and open it. Person #2 could either take the opened item or choice an unwrapped item, if the individual chooses person #1's gift, then person #1 can select another gift. If not, then it's Person #3 turn to select, either person #1 or person #2's gift, or chose an unwrapped gift. and it continues until the last person has gotten their gift.

It gets real funny as people eye items they want or others try to "hide" an item they like and want to keep. The items get rotated around especially with a large group and it can get comically.:rotfl2:

How about a speed page activity- have everyone who wants to play collect items they want to put on a page. Have them get into groups of about 4. Each person can start with their own page and work for like 5 minutes. At a sound, all participants pass their page and the items they want on the page to the next person and get a stack of stuff from the person beside them- work for another 5 minutes- do this until all the pages are back with the original participants- their page will hopefully be done and may be different from what they had thought/planned but it could be even better than they hoped.**I have not actually ever done anything like this I just think it could be fun.

Thanks for the suggestions. Those are a couple of new ideas for me. :goodvibes

Anyone else ever play a game at a crop that you enjoyed?

We have done 2 different things at our crops in the past:

1. For every page completed, we would put a ticket in a jar. At designated times, there would be a drawing and whoevers ticket is pulled would win a prize.

2. For groups of 4, we would create a journal box. The 1st person will choose a piece of paper. Another person would add stickers. Another would add the journal lines (think outside the box). Another would shape the "box." When it gets back to the original person, she has writes a memory that matches the box that was made for her.
