Retirement

I don't what to say, I bet your parents are all set your just a kid, I don't think you should be worrying. that's my opinion.

My mom was just talking about this like two days ago. She was saying how my dad's been saving for his retirement since he was like twenty.

In most jobs (especially federal ones) they make you have a retirement fund.
My dad works with the stock market, and his job makes him put a certain amount of his paycheck into the stock market towards retirement.

And what's bad about having money? I have money, but I'm one of the least spoiled kids in my town. It's all about limits.

And debt is nothing to be worried about. If you have a morgate, which almost every homeowner does, you have debt. You just have to know how to manage it.

Mortgage? There is a difference between mortgage debt and other types of debt. Mortgae debt is a controlled thing. Things such as credit card debt are a problem in many cases and are things that need to be worried about.

No idea, I was 4. xD

Now, I live right in the middle of the US, so no beaches and ocean for me. =[

aww thats sad! :( have you been to the beach in the past couple years? like on vacation? i dont think i could live without seeing the beach for years at a time. i live in CT, so im not that far away from a beach. and oh, ya lol its kinda hard to remember things when you are 4, haha.

very true. my dad, being the owner of a construction business, built my house, so i dont have a mortgage. but yeah, Credit card debt is a lot different than a mortgage debt.

I was in my living room listening to my dad talk and they brought up retirement and said that they don't have any(that I know of) retirement money, because when I was little they spent it on computers, motocross bikes, ect. I just feel bad for them. They aren't looking at retirement, but I just feel bad cause he said he will probably have to work till he dies.:sad2: :sad1: :(

My dad just spend his $7,00 [retirement money to pay for my sister's high school touition today. I almost cried when he told me he'd have to work more to get enough money to retire.

I just aked my mom if we were in debt and she told me this exact thing. :]

Mortgage debt is nothing. It's very controlled.

Credit Card debt/Student Loans/Debt from businesses/Medical Bills is a whole other thing though. If you have too much backed up it really affects your life.

Before we bought our current house, my parents had a bit of debt backed up, but we got it all cleared up in the closure. =]

To live life, you just have to know how to manage your money, however much it may be.
