We are booked for late July, but I'm thinking the heat will be oppressive. We have other fun extras planned and I think this one might be good to do if we go during cooler weather. Anyone experienced it during the heat of summer?

I did it in August once (and in April once).
Yes, it was oppressively hot, but still an awesome experience - in fact, I'm doing it again this Aug!
But if I had a choice, I'd do it in cooler weather...

We did the Wild Africa Trek at noon last July. It was hot, but no worse than any summer day at AK. In fact, with fanned areas and hydration stops, it was more pleasant than just walking around the park in the heat of the day.

Shoot for an early morning tour if available. We booked at the last minute and didn't have a choice of time for that day, but it was an I credible cperience and we would love to do it again. If the choice is between a July tour or not doing it at all, I'd do it in a heartbeat. For us it was well worth the cost.

I have not tried this tour yet, sounds like a great time. You should get plenty of good information from our board members.Whatever you decide I wish you a magical time on your visit to WDW. Danny
