I need some advice...

I was laid off in March after 11 years at my old company. I am now beginning to look for a new job, so I went to my local unemployment office for a resume class, seeing that I haven't needed to update my resume in 11 years I figured I should get some current advice. The woman who taught the class told all of us that we only need to list the last 10 years of work history on our resume. I've been working for the same company for the past 11 years, so am I only supposed to list one job on my resume???? :confused3

I know my prior resume was a little outdated, but only listing one job sounds so wrong to me! :scared1:

Anyone out there have an info on what I should do, what I should really put on my resume now??? :scared:

Thanks!

Actually having one good job in 10 years is a GOOD thing. Nothing to apologize for.

List all of your duties and abilities. Also list your education, any extra abilities and you'll have a good source of info on you.

There are lots of resume websites that will help you with yours. I do understand what you're going thru, I lost a 14 year job and just got a REAL job this past month.

Hang in there!
