I am sending my resume to Disney and need help....

They say to keep it short and sweet, but as a nanny I've had numerous contracts recently (1999-2004) 5 total plus three other jobs... should I list all or list the nanny positions as one like this:

1999-2004
Nanny
Various Families
Etc
etc
etc

I'm sending it to DCL for a position as a youth counselor

It depends on the type of job you are trying attain. If your experience pertains to the position, include it. If not, it probably won't matter.

Oops, just read the last line of your post. LOL.

I would include your past work experience.

and then bullet point the details. I don't know alot about nanny turnover, is 5 jobs in 5 years considered normal or is it a lot? I wouldn't highlight that you have swithced people that often unless this is normal turnover.

Most contracts are only for a year, esp if children are preschoolers heading to school... I have never been fired, etc. I left all jobs on good terms or to upgrade to another position, I still remain friends with all of the families and children.

I don't see why listing them would hurt. If you left on good terms, it just means more good refrences, right?

I would lump them together like you suggested:

Nanny
Various families
As a Nanny I did blah blah blah...

I would list the various families as references if the job you are interviewing for is in that line.

One thing they asked my DD was about experience with GROUPS of kids so you might want to include achievements in your resume that demonstrate activities that you supervised or created for groups. Birthday parties, family outings etc. Maybe previous experience with groups. Just a thought but makes sense since DCL Youth Counselors always work with groups.

DD responded to a posting for the position on Monster.com. That posting required a college degree. Don't know if that was an absolute because she has one.

FYI, I volunteer with a ministry to job seekers. To us short and sweet is up to two pages. Just no longer. If you have the experience, don't short change yourself trying to cram it into one page. Two pages isn't too much to read if the quality is there.

Best wishes.
