Restruant Attire

We will be viiting WDW for the first time this July with our two children 16 & 13. We will be celebrating our 19 th wedding anniversary while we are there. We want to go to a nice restruant for dinner one night. Do we need to dress up? If so what would be proper dress, and could you suggest a good restruant? Thanks

I would suggest the California Grill on top of the Contemporary Resort for a nice dinner. It would be considered one of the more "upscale" restaurants at Disney, but it would be perfectly fine if your kids will be attending with you.

I don't think you need to be that dressed up to eat there. When I was there last time, I saw lots of khaki's and casual wear as well as some people in suits. I would call the attire "business casual". I think the only place at WDW that requires a jacket for men is Victoria and Alberts at the Grand Floridian

The only restaurant that has a dress code is V&A's. If you go to any of the others dress as you want. For some of the nicer places I have seen from shorts and tees to elegant. You do see a lot khakis and polos for men and sundresses or slacks for women. Go in what you feel comfortable in.

Pretty much in agreement with the 2 previous posts. When they say "business casual", "resort casual" or sometimes "smart casual", the only dress they pretty much exclude are bathing suits and tank-tops.
So if you want to dress up a bit, you will feel comfortable doing so--you'll find many others dressing that way.
We always wear nice walking shorts and Disney T's--many dress that way too!!
As for restaurants, California Grill, Citrico's, Narcoosee's, Flying Fish, and Jiko's come to mind.
